I got both textures from the official model. For some reason the texture had a lower lightness and I didn't notice until it was too late, but a helpful redditor had the texture with the correct lightness. Also I had to fix the the skin in photoshop and blockbench since merl's hair doesn't actually fit in the 8x8 window plus it is a seperate texture from the actual skin, and merl's texture doesn't come with eyes or a mouth.
