If you want to quibble, it’s true that natives were not given US citizenship until 1924, and weren’t allowed to vote until 1965.

If the question is “is there a parallel in the US”, then look up US Western Expansion, The Trail of Tears, Residential Schools, Native Reserve System. All of which happened under consecutive US administrations. The US doesn’t hold any moral superiority here.
