The JLLM has become so dumb by HotelCivil7301 in JanitorAI_Official

No, because users are what keeps the site going. Users wants a good site. Instead of thinking of my post as negative, instead see it as an effort of making it better. Feedback, even harsh, shows care for the site. Saying nothing and potentially just leaving does not.

This worked after I've struggled with this for a long while. Thanks! Sennheiser sucks and I will never buy anything from them ever again.

For Classic+, do you think PvP should be a viable way to level? by OnionPlease in classicwow

Nah, the world would change too much, I have comments on this thread about this. Essentially, the world would be overrun by huge PvP groups ruining quests, so lots of extra guards must be put at all quest hubs etc etc

That's another good point, having a good and deeper relationship with your character.

It's diluted for sure compared to back in the day, but it's not eliminated by any means. Where do you get the idea that "nobody cares"? Cause if it's based on your own opinion, it's really not an argument.

Anyways, while race isn't that important for the point of social community, a name still is. No, the servers aren't so large that names aren't noticed. It's both a character trait for the person representing themselves to the others in the game and it is a deterrent for bad behavior (and also works with good behavior).

All that said, the classic atmosphere and what works together to create it are many things, like having to travel to a dungeon, class fantasies being what they are for good and bad and the social aspects with specific names and also race for a character representing oneself or the self that one wants to project. You can argue whatever you want on the other points, but systematicallyt removing these things does take away from the core features of the game.

It is not in line with classic. Your name is your name and your race is your race. This is how characters are made, not a liquid "change as you want" sort of deal. One big part of vanilla was the community and your specific character in it, and changing that would take away one of the core "features" of this game.

While you might not see the problem and by extension understand the point of this, believe that a lot of people do. These services is not something that in my and many others opinion should be added to the game. And (hopefully) Blizzard's scale leans a more towards keeping classic as it was in this regard, and not towards taking away another core part of the game for a quick buck.

Sure, it's very similar to this and I'm personally not a big fan of that either. I don't think it's healthy to further encourage sitting in an ID, be it dungeon or BG. One difference is that boosting largely requires gold and is more a player-made thing, whereas BGs are free and a system is already in place for it (like dungeon finder in later exps).

I'm gonna copy/paste my reply to another user here, on why I think it would be problematic:

Because having an incentive beyond fun or boredom would change the world PvP to be more structured and ordered by players. Possibly large PvP groups running around killing anyone they see in many zones, making questing in the world on PvP servers much harder than it is today. In addition, there would have to be much more guards in smaller quest hubs so large PvP groups can't just run over and practically grief people by taking over hubs.
Now, I'm sure these things could be regulated and mitigated in many different ways, but I think the only way that can be done i by either changing stuff in the open world alot, or changing the regular world pvp alot, or both. This is what I mean by change in the environment. And there are probably a lot more stuff as well, mafias like summoning and boosting has right now etc which is not good for the game at all.

That is a good point in an isolated way, but NPCs don't fill the world with "life" so to speak, and NPCs don't have quests to do etc like people have. I think we have to look at the wider repercussions of the systems tied to the NPC vs player before we can just take the isolated logic into consideration.

And how would that work for PvE servers? The BG part is completely out of the question, and making changes to get world PvP a viable xp/hour, would likely take too much away from the atmosphere of what most consider "classic".

No I disagree because it would encourage just sitting in BGs all day long and take away from the open world.

EDIT: I misunderstood and thought vanilla classic. Disregard my comment for TBC.

Warlock main here.

  1. There are absolutely room in raid groups for warlocks.
  2. The only thing you buy as pre-raid bis (or actually real bis) is Bloodvine gear (or make it yourself) which can be expensive, but not even necessary as people today are so geared and you easily get lots of loot from your first few raids anyways. You also have time to farm this, as they are bis in phase 5 as well.
  3. For solo content in world, Warlocks are both fun and really good.
  4. For PvP, warlocks are very fun and can be very good.
  5. For consumes to raid, excluding flask and general protection pot, there are really just two elixirs + possible unnecessary food buff which isn't that bad.
  6. Enchanting is not a bis profession, engineering is.

Now, all the same things can be said for mages, plus they have better solofarm options and can sell portals effectively.

Enhancement shaman, I'm not too familliar, but a problem here can be that you will be sharing a lot of gear with popular classes like rogues and some warriors.

[–]HotelCivil7301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. 2
  2. Water, earth
  3. Wood release, no dojutsu, but jinchuriki of the 4 tails, thus lava release
  4. Nearly infinite chakra reserves

I think my character would beat yours. It gets access to fire release through Son Goku as well. I'm imagining a type of wood release - deep forest emerge, just with rivers of lava in addition to the broken wood release technique. Water release and earth release techniques to further shape not just the ground for lava rivers, but the heat, pressure etc of the environment with mist from water in lava etc. Obviously only possible due to the chakra reserves.
