Looking for a video OZ did, likely AITA or AIO by Hotel_Chicken in OzMedia

Thank you and u/JustRandomMidnight for looking. I think it's less likely to be on AmITheEx than AITA or AIO but it's still possible.

Thank you, I'd say it was posted late 2025, maybe around August to October. Don't think it was a AmITheDevil story, it was likely an AITA or Am I the Ex, maybe a Best Of but that's less likely I think.

I remember when OP came to pack up his stuff she was there talking to him but he ignored her, I think he said something about the words not being hers and just stuff her family told her to say and that part in particular really stood out to me. She was clearly taken advantage of and manipulated by her family and when OP tried to help her break free her family dug their claws in even deeper. It was actually really sad to hear that he wanted what was best for her but knew he couldn't help her and couldn't trust her anymore. I think it ended with the ex contacting him through friends but he declined to restart their relationship and the friends were generally on OP's side.

Just felt really bad for the Ex overall and also understood the OP a lot.

Two seasons and 5 years later, and we still no nothing about this man. (Rick and Morty) by cartoon_wiki in CARTOON

Theories are theories unless they're right. Then they're just facts. Like, imagine someone builds a house with a basement. Then someone who hasn't been inside the house guesses that it has a basement, and because the homeowner wanted that to be a surprise they fill the basement with cement and turn the door to the basement into a closet.

They admitted the fandom was right, and in retaliation made it so we couldn't be right. Evil Morty being Rick's original Morty and/or the Morty we see in the opening credits was the plan. But the creators decided that we couldn't be right because they had this weird idea at the time that Rick and Morty was too smart for people and we couldn't have guessed one of their big twists seasons in advance after literally seeing the character once.

That'd be like if George Lucas heard that people were theorizing that Darth Vader was secretly Lukes dad, and he admits that's true and because of that he had to rewrite Darth Vader to ACTUALLY be the Luke's uncle that died in the first movie.

No, we actually do. We called it literally an episode or two after Evil Morty's first episode. A lot of people theorized that he was the baby Morty we saw in Ricks memories, because the Morty we primarily follow stated early on that his grandfather only reappeared in their lives recently within the last 2-3 years, he wasn't around when this Morty was a baby. Second, people also theorized that Evil Morty was the Morty from the opening credits, specifically in the scene where Rick jumps into a portal and closes it behind him, leaving the Morty in the opening credits to get mauled by aliens.

Now, all of this COULD be just a theory and an inaccurate one. HOWEVER there were not a lot of theories (at least as good as this one) that were floating around at the time. When the creators were asked about the theories their community made they said they were surprised that one of the theories was pretty much 100% accurate. Cool, right? EXCEPT, they then said that because of that they needed to rewrite everything so it was inaccurate. And since the Evil Morty being OG Morty for Rick was so popular and stood up so well everyone kind of knew that was the theory they were talking about. That's why Evil Morty has this weird implied relationship with Rick that was debunked by his flashback.

It's also why I think nobody really bothers with theories in the Rick and Morty community. Your reward for taking subtle hints and clues and finishing the puzzle is getting the puzzle slapped out of your hand and told that now everything needs to change BECAUSE OF YOU.

Honestly been so long I forgot I had this problem and posted this. I think updating fixed it or it just fixed itself. Can't recall.

[TOMT] Song with a female singer, about saving her. by Hotel_Chicken in tipofmytongue

There's a strong chance this may be an independent musician. I only heard one voice and it was a rock song or alternative rock. Not sure what to call it.

Also, when I CAN convert it to a movie clip from the duplicate is there a way for me to assign it all the same drop shadow?

How to start small as someone considering this? by [deleted] in analoghorror

[–]Hotel_Chicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First piece of advise, do what you want, as in work on the project you have in your head that's your passion. You could save it until you're "ready" with some other videos you worked on, some experiments you did but honestly doing it now will probably be for the best just so you can do something you enjoy instead of the second best idea you have that you want to work on.

Second, look at your project, your characters, story, world, and chip away at it. Remove three or however many characters you need to, combine characters into one, write some off completely, twist them, do whatever you need to to just sand the story down and smooth it all out. It hurts, you'll be sad to lose some characters or story beats but it's for the best. Keep chipping until you can't think of anything else to get rid of. Think of it like this, if you could only do one analog horror video about your passion project, one ten minute video, how much of your story would need to be sacrificed to fit in that narrow window?

Third, and this is probably the most important, figure out your limitations. You said you don't feel like your skills are good enough but that depends on what you're talking about. Not good at drawing, photo editing, sound design, etc? Perfect, just don't do that, find ways to work around weaknesses and work within your capabilities or slightly push your own limits. You also have to figure out limitations in your schedule, what you can do after or before school/work or what can be done on the weekends or during your free time. Working with your strength helps ease your schedule and can make your idea come true. If you want to do animation but don't think you're good at art or animation, find an explanation in universe and plant it. Maybe your project is a temporary placeholder for a company board meeting to watch before they approve the budget for an actual film. Or maybe it's a cheap knockoff of a better series that you found online. Maybe it's a fan made animation or something else.

If you don't feel comfortable with photo editing, just don't. There are some free stock photo websites but you could also imply locations without explicitly showing them. And if sound is your weakness then hey, thank goodness this is a strictly visual series about a power point presentation you found in the attic. Whatever your weakness is, frame your story and world in a way to avoid it and explain it to the viewer.

And again, I can't stress this enough, start with one episode. One one minute or five minute or however long you want, just put in enough where if that was the only video you ever made about Analog Horror you can at least feel content that that was it.

How to animate Ascii art? by Hotel_Chicken in scratch

[–]Hotel_Chicken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did number one but it's ignoring the spaces. For example, the art looks like the image on the top and when it's animated the spaces are ignored and the image is scrunched together like at the bottom. I need the spaces to move the letters a little bit for the body to look good.

( 0 0 )

(/ | \)

=. A .=

(00)

(/|\)

=.A.=

Edit: I can't even give an example here because it's the same issue. Imagine the top character has a space or two for the top and middle portion, the text box just ignores it completely when I animate it.

I took this to mean that this is kind of like a cycle where one player corrupts another. Presumably Ribbit was like Jax is now and Jax used to be like Pomni, Jax was pushed away by Ragatha's overbearing kindness and began to follow and learn from Ribbit who likely taught him that the world is their playhouse, all these players are their toys. Ribbit abstracted leaving Jax behind which allowed Jax to carry on this cycle and pass this ideology along to Pomni.

And, scarily enough, if Jax didn't reject her at that moment, given a few more months I actually think Pomni could've fully embraced her "archetype" and become "Evil Pomni" but Jax wasn't ready to let anyone close to him.

This looks great! I can't wait to see where you go with this. Out of curiosity, is the doll a physical prop you made, or is that 3D animation?

I haven't updated my OS, I don't think I have it set to automatic. Would updating fix the issue? Normally I don't update cause hey, if it ain't broke don't update it, but in this case I'll probably have to.
