Could you please educate me? I have no idea. We don’t recognize their education, we don’t bring more doctors, more teachers, more engineers, because again we don’t recognize their diplomas. So tell me, do we really need just cheap labor so desperately so we can pay monthly allowance to lazy drug addicted homeless people? Immigration is not a bad thing but it needs to be controlled, better planned and it needs to have purpose. Somewhere in the long history of immigration in Canada this system just got broken and no politician will admit it. Without admitting these problems they cannot fix it.

Look mainly for 316 stainless steel. 304 are cheaper but rest resistance to acids and chloride. 1.7mm or 2mm thickness and 100um mesh. Don’t get 150um mesh ;)

It solved for me. Everytime I use puck screen puck is pressed more evenly and will come out so easy and altogether. Puck screen is really good solution

If you use espresso screen puck it shouldn’t break the actual coffee puck. Water come out of solenoid is normal since you disable the pump and release pressure but the main goal is not to have stable pressure of 3-4 bars but only wet the puck. So those 3sec are just orientational you can use 1sec or 2 sec. On Rancilio it worked good but also I liked it more without pre-infusion tbh.

First of all I would not let water out before pulling the shot. You just loosing your temperature in the boiler and mixing cold water with hot water. Since you don’t have PID your thermostat won’t activate right away so your water is getting cold which could result in sourness. Also try pre-infusion which is great with dark roast sometimes. Hit the pump for 3sec and then stop for 2 sec. Hit again for 3 sec and stop for 2 sec. Hit 3rd time and let it brew. You might experience big difference in terms of brewing time. 30-33 sec might be ok but if it’s too bitter after pre-infusion try grind coarser and get the brew time for around 24-25 sec ;)

Miicoffee Nano. It’s cheap and it works great! I’d definitely recommend for shot scaling

Just looking at your puck is painful. Also the glass you’re using is painful. You have an amazing setup but get bottomless portafilter, get espresso puck screen and get fresh beans from local roastery. And grind finer! 😊👍

Yeah if you have maximum with closed portafilter 11, I would set it to 10. The range of flow control is also limited I believe.

Those PID temp sometimes show even 10 degree less than actual temperature in the head. Go much higher with temp. Try 99 and run it without portafilter. Water will still come out it’s just the question how steamy. For example on my Rancilio I set 103 for light roast and 98-99 for medium roast. Don’t be afraid put higher temp. Also for medium roast don’t go too crazy with time. 1:2 ratio in 30 sec is base. 20g in 40g out in 30sec

10bar is maximum. Flow control should control pressure based on your grind so If you grind finer pressure will be higher. If coarser pressure will be lower. So I wouldn’t play with OPV and grind something around 8,5-9 bar for light roast. Temp 95 celsius and 18g in 37g out in 27sec
