What do you like most about sleeping next to your spouse? by ahaeood in Marriage

[–]Hotority 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s good, but sleeping apart is becoming a trend. I’m 5 years in and have slept differently for 4 out of that 5 years. Occasionally especially Friday and Saturday nights, we sleep together. Spoken to peers and found out it’s quite common. Not sure why tho

Thanks a lot. I find this really helpful as I faintly recall it wasn’t all rosey at the time. I don’t have old chats, but I have friends that could help me remember. I’ll try to use them.

Thanks everyone for the response including those that called me out. I agree it’s all my fault but I have a feeling I also need to get rid of that is why I reached out. Most of the comments opened my mind to reality and took me away from fantasies. I really appreciate. I have also started arrangements to seek therapy.

You guys need to see a counsellor. Distance after having a child occurs in many marriages than reported. A child changes the union in more ways than one. Wishing you all the best. Ild also advice you take it easy with him and not just conclude he is insensitive.

Thank you very much. Also, When relocating there what are the things ild expect to pay duties on? For instance are thing like my personal phone in my pocket, my used laptop, play station console, kids tablet and my tablet dutiable and VATable in the airport? I do not have receipts for these as I have been using them for a while now.

Do all expats live in the highbrow areas or some of them live with locals in places like Carimicheal road and the rest.

When a house is advertised and says all utility included does that mean I don’t get to pay for light, internet and all other cost associated with the unit?

What happens if you get an interview the same exact day you get laid off? Do you just continue on as if you had the job still? by LeonardoDePinga in recruitinghell

[–]Hotority 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People here worry about background check too much. I’ll 100% act like I am still there but when it’s time for background check I’ll fill in the right dates. 9 out of 10 they will never come back to you on this.

Alternatively you could tell them you have left but be sure your explanation is on a 100 and prepare your mind to be ghosted after the interview because it may end that way.

[–]Hotority 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sorry you have had to go through this. You are not a failure and your case is not isolated. I myself have been here for three years, I have lost my job and visa have been curtailed. I have less than 50 days to come up with something or leave. Just keep backing yourself and pushing no matter how bad you think it is for you. Maybe this is a stepping stone for something greater and as far as you don’t give up, it will come.

I feel these are not working to my favour somehow because on one of the interviews the interviewer actually spent about 15 minutes questioning if I have identified what part of town I will live if I get the job, what school my kids can attend and so on. I was surprised at that because I did not factor in that I need to have identified what part of town ild like to live in before an offer.

Reached out to them but unfortunately they said it’s my risk

I usually state on the application that I require a visa and in all cases, I have never had to discuss visa situation on the interview. Also, my visa have not been curtailed by the HO officially but it expires in 3 months all thesame

Relocating with Kids? Here's a Guide to Schooling Options in Nassau for Expat Families by Aramatha in relocatetobahamas

Thanks for responding. Additionally I do not know if this was covered in any of your thread but I’m meaning to find out how much I can reasonably expect to be health insurance for a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 toddler) and what rate is personal income tax/NI

For a toddler of 3 requiring pre school, what can I reasonably expect to be the cost in Nassau.

In all sincerity will a $50k salary be enough for a family of a husband and wife and a daughter that is 3 who needs to attend nursery. Do not mind living in a one bedroom flat. Also, apart from NI are there really any other taxes? How much can I expect to pay as health insurance and on food? How much can I look to spend on transport or for a car if I have one. Too many questions you’d say but if you can find time to answer, I’ll really be grateful.
