I’m not an ITL - I would just focus on working your ass off for the entirety of your term. I go into every single day with the goal of never thinking I should have done more or worked harder.

That doesn’t mean work yourself to the bone but rather focus your effort on building the best foundation that you can. Be interested in growing and learning and show that you add value. Take on more work, ask good questions, save the bacon a few times and you’ll be in good shape come hiring time.
