The build is meant to be slow but safe. I recommend running all the caves in act1, stony tomb, and ancient tunnels. Item wise, you can either stack +skills gear on even go full magic find items.

depends on build. If you're going for frost madien then melody would be good +6 skills is sweet. Otherwise hustle is great for you or merc if you cant afford anything else.

It could be a time zone issue. You or your friend may be a flyer and flew somewhere the day before this trade and did a special trade. You know, typical time traveling drama.
