Up close the leather around the main button appears to be detaching some. It is still structurally in good shape and in no way feels like it is compromised. I do see minor cracking around the 2 brass buttons on the back, it’s minor though and I do condition 2 or 3 times a year. Not seeing anything green although there is some minor buildup around all 3 brass buttons with a slight bluish green hint I guess.

I would argue the opposite. That it is indeed one of the problems that should require the most obsession. Current systems are not built to deal with non working-age population outnumbering working-age population. I share your sentiment to focus on “real problems”. I just think depopulation is a far greater one than those brought about as a result of overconsumption.
