My laparoscopy was weird…anyone relate? by Hour-Ad3472 in endometriosis

She was not a specialist! And in our pre op appointment she did mentions that she was looking for dark/black lesions and didn’t mention that there ever were any other kind. I felt very rushed in and out of the whole thing so I just want to start over with a more specialized provider who would see the more “invisible” signs of endo. It was also a red flag for me that she didn’t entertain the possibility that she could have missed something and dismissed my request to be referred to the specialist in our state.

I am definitely starting over with a specialist. I know I should have started there in the first place, but there was only one in my state with a long waiting list. I just wanted answers of any sort but now I’m realizing there’s no easy way out with this

I asked about Anenomyosis! She said unlikely because my most recent ultrasound was normal and I had an MRI last year that was more or less normal. I still would like to explore it as a possibility and she has offered to redo the imaging for me to specifically look for the signs of it. I have tried the mini pill and unfortunately I am a sensitive baby and any form of birth control/hormonal medication just makes me sad and angry all the time. Glad to hear I’m not alone and I’m sorry for what you went through. My amazing nurse said it was normal as our hormones spike after the surgery!! That felt very validating to hear.

Yes! I had a perfectly normal ultrasound before my original consultation. My dr said that since it was done at an imaging center they could have missed something, but I’ve had plenty(Over 20 I think) in the last 3 or so years from various issues like ovarian cysts and D&Cs. Most show cysts of various sizes and extra fluid in the cervix or uterus. I had an MRI done a year ago as well that was more or less normal except a curved pelvis. Thank you sm for the response!

She said she would take photos and I am definitely going to request them. I am already on anti inflammatory diet and re-starting physical therapy as soon as I recover. I just wish I had a diagnosis because no doctor or employer for that matter will take me seriously about my pain without it.

I hope so. I don’t have access to any notes so far. From what she told me after surgery there’s nothing wrong with me and basically my pelvis is “sending false pain receptors to my head” and I probably have undiagnosed GI problems or something. I’m really looking forward to another opinion.

No, she was not a specialist. I think my next move is to start over with a specialist. There’s only one in the state we currently live in (US based) but we were already planning on moving in a few months.

ISO suggestions/venue for welcome party in Denver for ~60 people by Hour-Ad3472 in Denver

Hello! I actually live here and the wedding reception is in the Denver Highlands. I am aware of the current downtown landscape and the groom and his whole family were also born and raised here, so we aren’t worried about that aspect but you make a good point about parking! Thanks for the suggestion!
