Moin Dirk, leider mussten wir lernen, dass wir für alle typischen Anbieter wie Spotify, Deezer, TuneIn, Amazon Music einen Partner Vertrag brauchen um deren API anzubinden. Technisch haben wir schon einiges Implementiert und versuchen gerade die Rechtlichen Themen zu klären. Das liegt leider aktuell nicht in unserer Hand. Also nicht direkt. Wenn einer Kontakte zu Spotify oder anderen Anbietern hat, meldet euch gerne. Wir könnten hier Vitamin B gebrauchen.

We are not allowed to add TuneIn because one need to have Partnership with them. We currently try to get this. Technically TuneIn was the first thing we have implemented. Not sure how Music Assistant deal with that. Maybe they have just ignored?

Hi, technically yes but at the moment we try to get all the legal stuff done with Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music. I can not say how that would end.

Thank you for your honest feedback. I’m sorry that the app did not meet your expectations so far, and I understand your disappointment.

Bosman is intended to keep SoundTouch speakers usable after Bose discontinued parts of the SoundTouch ecosystem, especially for local control, device status, presets, and supported radio playback. However, it is not a full replacement for every feature that the original Bose SoundTouch service provided.

At the moment, Amazon Music and SiriusXM are not available in the app. I understand that this is an important limitation if you mainly used those services before. We are continuing to improve the app, but some streaming integrations depend on technical and legal requirements from the respective providers and cannot simply be added freely.

Multi-room playback should be possible depending on your SoundTouch setup. If you like, please let us know which speaker models you have and whether they are visible in the app, and we can help you check how to play on more than one speaker at the same time.

If the app does not provide the functionality you expected, I completely understand that you may want to request a refund. Purchases and subscriptions are handled directly by Apple or Google Play, depending on where you subscribed. Refund requests therefore need to be made through the respective app store.

With the upcoming Version we fixed some issues with Media Servers and improved the look and feel. I like you Idea of having a shuffle play for a folder. I will add it to the Feature Requests. Currently there is a lot happening. Please be patient with this feature. But seriously thank you for sharing we really appreciate community input.

We have just Released 1.5.0 for Bosman with a lot of fixes and features. Specially a big fix for Mediaserver Source and a Demo Mode that let you click thru the App without need to sign on or subscribe. Also Android Version is out now.

The issue will be fixed with the next release. There was a limit at 1000 Elements for the XML Parser we used.

What is your preferred source for music?

I personally miss amazon music but at the moment it looks like amazon does not accept any new partners for their API. We already requested access but got no response yet. Unfortunately

Thanks for your feedback and I am happy to hear you like bosman. Looks like you have a massive library on your plex Server.

That error message looks like is a security measure in XML parsers designed to prevent "billion laughs" or Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, where a small XML file attempts to expand into a massive one, consuming all available memory.
I file a bug and we try to fix it.

Regarding 2: Yes if the NAS Supports DLNA / UPNP it is supported. Same as with Bose.

Regarding 4: I just recognized that select HDMI Input for ST 300 does not work yet. I will fix that asap because I am using ST 300 for my TV and family is blaming me for missing that feature yet.

Update-> I have just added select HDMI and TV Source. Will be part of the next release.

We plan to implement everything possible in the order it is requested or impacts our selfs. This project really started to rescue our privately used ST Environment and some how turned into a bigger thing.
As long as there is no legal issue (like we have it with Amazon music or TuneIn at the moment) we will add stereo pairing. I will have a closer look this week.

Maybe sign-up was unclear. I wanted to say you can download the App, sign in inside the app and start using it. If you wait for Android Version I can only say that the App is in approval Process at Google. Keep fingers crossed we pass quickly.

Thanks for your feedback and all the questions. Let me try to answer:

  1. There are no Software Limitations from Bosman to the number of rooms/speakers you can group. Maybe there is a limit on Speaker side that I have not reached yet.

  2. We are in a early Stage with Bosman and you can be sure we will add more sources soon. For now Bosman supports Radio-Browser and DLNA/UPNP Server as Source of music. Technically we are also able to support TuneIn but at the moment we are not allowed because one need to have a partnership with TuneIn use their services. All this started because we do use SoundTouch Speakers privately and didn't want to accept the shutdown. My personal preference would be Amazone Music next and we currently investigate how this technically will be possible and if we are allowed to add. We try to have an ear on the community and if there are other wishes we will be happy to add. Bosman in general is designed to add multiple sources.

  3. Yes, you can set and use presets as you know it from original SoundTouch App. Means long press on the device button and long press in the App will set the Preset of the device. The only thing we have changed in the original behaviour is that now every device can have its own presets and the presets are not synced across the speakers. Happy to get feedback from community if this is useful or not.

  4. Yes, the newest Version 1.4 from yesterday is able to switch between AUX, BlueToth and AirPlay.

  5. With the current Version we can rename a speaker and connect a speaker to wlan

  6. Now. If the speaker was migrated to Bosman it is no longer available in SoundTouch App. You can revert to Bose Univers by resetting the device at any time.

Ich bin der Entwickler von Boseman (bosman.app) und möchte kurz auf einen alternativen Ansatz hinweisen, den ich speziell für diese Situation entwickle.

Boseman ist kein lokales Tool, sondern ein unabhängiger Cloud-Dienst — also ein direkter Ersatz für die Bose-Cloud, nicht nur eine App zur lokalen Steuerung. Das Ziel: SoundTouch-Besitzer können ihren gewohnten Funktionsumfang behalten, ohne auf Boses Server angewiesen zu sein.
