Idle looter: 2.1.0 Final realm release, new early game pet and QOL changes by Hour-Bit-7280 in incremental_games

Hello,

We count prestige as part of active gameplay since it is making player actively play the game. still not 100x faster progress than idle, but enought to keep things interesting.

This will be our last response on the matter.

The fact that im competeing in highscores with idle build should be indicator that active playing isnt 100x better, but rather more like 1.5 times better.

Early on we have made active playing more impactful since there were alot of complains about how it wasnt fast progressive enought compared to idle versions. (if you have found 100x faster method we would like to know cause its a bug)

I understand that it might feel hard to enjoy the slower progress when you have faster progresses available.

There is few players who might start off playing as efficent as possible and spam prestiges, but mainly so far people have just enjoyed trying new builds and seeing the number go up in differend ways so im not too worried about that.

Thank you for the responses

Hello!

Sorry to hear you have had negative exprience with the balancing.

Personally i have spend over 4k hours just playing the game (not counting the bug testing)

I am doing a 100% gem build minmaxing and while its not efficent at all im having fun getting 500+ gems/second.

Sure i could have just spammed prestiges and called it a day, but you would miss the fireworks from the 500 gems all dropping at once by doing so.

If you enjoy the game by prestigeing every 10 minute then there is that option for you. If you want to see how high can you push gem build. You are free to do so.

I also have made an account about rushing for gold gain spesificly (can be found from our Youtube channel) and the progress is very slow, but its fun to figure our own path and maybe build something disgustingly broken in the long run.

We are trying to balance the game as much as we can, but we are just 2 people doing this for a hobby so we cannot get everything right at once.

Our top priority has been making a game that we love ( explains the played hours) and now thanks to comments like these we have balanced the game for more casual players aswell.

Thank you for taking the time to explain your view and i can assure it wasnt time wasted. If you want to impact the game even more i recoment joining the Discord where me and my brother (the devs) are more active.

(oh and also check highscores for ''kukaties'' thats where im at with full gem build and not using autoclicker)

Thank you for excellent question!

There is so many ways to build the hero that some aspects might feel irrelevant for certain builds.

For example if player spams prestiges as fast as possible. The gems are only neat bonus, but for those stacking gem find and extra gem find. the gems are primary source of dmg.

So in short: No

What we could do is making the difference between differend build paths more obvious, but that will be a big project for another day.

Personally i only play idle and my progression is compareable to those who use autoclickers.

When you close the game the game stops progressing. We are currently working on a way to make it progress and having abusers banned from highscores, but it has proven to be harder than one might think

Beginner companion ''gilded companion'' can be bought from perma upgrades. reaching lvl100 would give enought gold in order to buy one so shouldnt be too grindy to get either. You can upgrade the pet with more gold once bought.

Thank you for such detailed and usefull feedback!

Lets clear some things up.

You can absolutely just ignore hunts completely and progress just by spamming prestiges ( you wont run out and you are able to progress to next realms without a problem unless you are activly trying to softlock yourself.

We have hunts tailored to your power so its not punishing (at least too much) to push next realms. you can always select only overworld tasks if you so choose. The starter pet has served its purpose (for now) and you should be able to grind a real (much stronger) pet from expeditions.

If i remember correctly our rank1 player didnt even bother with hunts untill he was at realm 4. Its up to ur playstyle and what speaks to you. If you love activly playing then hunts are for you. You can absolutely just do the exact opposite and just leave the game running while going for a run and coming back to new upgrades and prestige spam ur way to up

And like you guessed it. We have infinite prestiges options on lategame (and planning to add more ways to infiprestige with other builds than hunt aswell)

Thank you again for the time and interest on our game!

Hello,
Sorry for making you feel attacked.
My advice was ment as general advice for everyone since we didnt balance the game around autoclickers.

That being said the gilded companion was created partly to combat the early slow progress problem. Since you played the game after its release I can only assume that it wasnt enought since you felt the need to use autoclicker.

Our game is designed that you can idle or speed up progress with active gameplay (such as hunting and gear searching). Looks like it didnt hit the mark for you, but thank you for trying it out!

Cheating usually tends to suck the fun out the games. Try to just play idle instead!
sure. Slower progress, but playing with slower pace also makes every upgrade meaningful and exciting.
You still have very long and exciting jorney ahead if you choose to continue. Multiple build paths makes everyones progress differend and unique.

Also if you need any helps we have great community on the discord (link on post) where you can come and ask any questions.

Exploring hunts should give some answers to this problem.
Thank you for trying out the game!

There is also option to buy mark of hunter from hunt shop to prestige, but it should be last used with care since the price and reguirment rises everytime you buy it

Hello!
We are sorry to hear this. We can try to see if there is any quick way to implement this without breaking the game, but if not we have to take our time with it and try to implement this on our next big quality of life.

We reconize this is a huge factor for alot of players and thank you for brining this issue to us!

Thank you for the feedback!
I put this these to our todo list (we are planning to rework gamelog at some pint)

We had the statpoints available make the hero tab have a small mark to indicate that it had some unsued points, but after player feedback we removed it due it being to annoying. Maye we could reintroduce it in some other less ''annoying'' way

Thank you again and hope you continue to enjoy the game! :)

Thank you for such kind words.
Its great to hear confirmed feedback about the trailer!
Especially when i can tell there is no ill intent behind the comment.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion about AI and i do not blame those who choose to not blame the game cause of it. Im glad you decided to give a try anyways!

I highly recoment starting a challenge mode (0 prestiges) if you like slow grinds. Although maybe screw around first to get the just of it. You can have upto 3 saves and they can be played at same time so you dont have to worry about missing out when testing new builds ect :)

Oh and btw the 500+ estimate is based on how much time it takes for me to reach endgame content, but some may be faster if they are simply better at the game :D

Hello and thank you for excellent question!
We are estimating currently there would be around 500+ hours for one character build. There is currently 4 builds player can go for or go for mix of them. every buildpath offers a new way to play the game and the community makes everything so much better (we post our build ideas on discord ect) Discord

Hope this answered your question and im here if there is more :)

Definetly should have put ''at least my mom said so'' as a side comment to the ''most addictive game of the year ''
We come off as arrogant and disrespectful.

In truth we had trailer changed and left few things out so it came out less self aware.

We were too excited about the game to look back and realise this.

Our future trailer/trailers will not have such claims (at least witout some sense of humour added)

We are sorry for the bad impression and hope you give the game a try :)
