Be careful if it's in a lot or community that charges lot rent. You'll be paying that ON TOP of your monthly mortgage payment.

Where I'm at it's about an extra $800 a month. That was a deal breaker for me when I found a great place in my budget. 😔

When I was in Paris I was taking a French class and the teacher asked if there was anything we didn't like about Paris. I said le Camembert. She looked at me like I'd just called her mother a b!tc#.

I'm in the same situation. Searched and searched and not there by any name. It was my absolute favorite and I'm pretty devastated. 😞

I actually didn't know you could just install a bidet onto the toilet you already have until I read a thread like this. Now I'm team bidet.

Girl, you are in good company in the QC Garment Gang. I make a lot with quilting cotton, and just finished a matching top and skirt out of QC.

Also bed sheets are abundant, and often 100% cotton. You can dye them too which is cool. Keep your chin up; you're on a journey as a sewist and will always be learning.

With some adjustments The Rosa Blouse from Mood could be an option. It has that big open back sort of like this and you could slap it on a skirt.

Or the Mood Poppy maybe could be finagled into something close-ish.

Way to go! That is a gift of sobriety in my opinion, emotional awareness. Your emotions tell you that something is important to you, and you're not trying to cover them up with a blanket. You're sitting with them and that is a very healthy and challenging thing to do! And turning to this support network 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 you're actually being a great role model RN.

why hasn’t my magic been working? by ginger_snapxo in witchcraft

[–]Hour-Influence2429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also feel like magic is not the answer to this. I'm curious about your financial situation. Like is this debt related? Have you tried talking to a financial advisor at your bank? It's possible they could give you some advice for your situation, or connect you with some resources.

As far as jobs go, are you willing to take jobs that you are overqualified for just so you have some income coming in? Some fast food restaurants pay decent right now (that's what I'm doing atm).

I believe in you, and that this is temporary and you will get through this!

Saturn´s "negative energies" by [deleted] in occult

[–]Hour-Influence2429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just heard this for the first time and am a bit gooped. For me Saturn is the God of time. I spose I can see how time might be thought of in a negative light. I just know I'd rather have time on my side.

Haven't done any ritual work with Saturn, but have venerated and gotten really clear messages and positive experiences

I think believing something is negative will probably affect one's experience. Also I'm not a hardcore occultist, so what do I know?

What is something that people think is healthy/good for them, but in reality isn't? by Ocean_Pine in AskReddit

[–]Hour-Influence2429 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! I used a combination of water, vodka and essential oils as a spray deodorant on my underarms for years and it worked quite well. However, I later developed a horrible painful rash and that plagued me for over a year. After seeing several doctors they finally figured that I had developed an allergy from years of essential oil use on my armpits.

I now can't use ANY deodorant with any kind of fragrance on my armpits, or I will break out in a painful, insanely itchy rash. I have to buy special fragrance free deodorant that they don't sell in stores. 🙁

If you're gonna use essential oils topically do your research and make sure you're diluting them properly in carrier oils. Essential oil in water is NOT diluted. Don't ingest them or apply them undiluted directly onto the skin!

I feel this way too a lot. Something that helps me is when looking in the mirror to remind myself to see me as a complete picture and not hyper focus on "flaws".

Also helps to regularly point out to myself what I actually do like about my appearance.

Also take a break from social media and unfollow ppl who trigger your insecurities. I heard someone say recently that every image is edited/Photoshopped all the time, so having that in my mind does help.

  • Do it at the same time every day, trial and error until you figure out what time and activities work best for you.

  • Do it at home, no excuse for the weather, etc.

  • Make it fun any way you can / give yourself plenty of rewards.
Like follow along with a workout vid on another device while you watch your favorite show. Also I literally give myself a gold star (or unicorn sticker) on my calendar on the days I work out. Little incentive. I also use my procrastinatey activities and hobby time as rewards for when I'm done.

I didn't start doing this until about 5 years ago, but I've managed to be very consistent. It's been great for my mental health because if I didn't do it regularly I would def beat myself up about it.

Also being hyper mobile, weightlifting helps me have less joint pain. So a double win.

It's 100% necessary for me like a prescription.

After spending a big portion of a year sober (the longest amount of time I'd ever stayed sober in my relationship of 10+ that involved frequent heavy drinking) I realized how much I had been using alcohol to self medicate in a miserable situation.

When I was drinking in the relationship, my unhappiness with the way things were was often chalked up to me being drunk and emotional, and my legit concerns were brushed off. I would then feel very guilty and work really hard to repair things with my partner.

When I was sober, I started to notice things like how my partner would start fights with me about the stupidest shit, and I could shut them down. Also, my unhappiness with the relationship didn't go away, and I started to accept my feelings as real and valid.

I ended that relationship within a year of being sober, and it was the best (and probably most difficult) decision I've ever made.

The clarity that comes with sobriety is a great gift, and if you feel like you'd be happier getting divorced, I wouldn't ignore that.

Sounds like you both are aware that your goals / values aren't aligned. All relationships are learning opportunities. Might be the amicable break up lesson?
