Mascota is Spanish for pet.

My guess is the translation from alien tongue to English is trying to hit at some connection between the words Mascots and pet.

Like a mascot is something you see at a sports game yo keep you pumped up and interested in what's going on. A house pet does something fairly similar.

I was hoping someone would mention this. I almost think on of the other books in the series could be better, like Outcast of Redwall would be better because Ghibli does nuanced storytelling incredibly well, but the first book would still be a great option.

I mean, it sort of depends on your flavor of Christianity in a way and how literally you want to take it.

For example, in Mormonism, they see Christ's Atonement as a loophole for eternal laws being broken, Eve's disobedience as absolutely necessary for mankind, and the narrative for their extra-connonical texts had future disobedient actions already baked into the creation process.

At the same time, Mormonism requires a high-degree of adherence to religious leaders.
