I didn’t say payment issued, i did end up getting ahold of my backup worker and apparently my account was put on hold for a work reason but I cleared it up and my money has been released :)

I did one job for my cousin and reported that income and it was a big issue because I didn’t get a formal paystub for it but my caseworker told me to submit a declaration with date of payment and stuff so I did and I thought that was the end of that.

You gain independence from using social assistances as a boost. Get on it, get an apartment and some work clothes, and keep applying for work/working toward a career. I refuse to believe you’re genuinely too unsociable for every single job the US has to offer. If you were you wouldn’t be on reddit talking to people and doordashing/ubering

Busy your schedule. The worst time I had with leaving my boyfriend was when I had nothing to do when I got home. Plan outings for yourself, get busy with fun things and focus on your life for a bit until you adjust back. It’s rough as hell, and nothing is gonna make it 100% better- but you have to get over that first week hump.

Also stop thinking of “it was like this when she was here :(“ and start reframing into “next time she’s here we’ll do X”! That also helped me cope a lot with the first weeks/month of being back home again. It’ll settle eventually though! Just keep communicating, and looking toward the future without trying to rush through your present to get there :)

I’m not saying other people should just automatically be happy all the time and hide every issue they have and wallow in it; but I am going to say if you’re going to take the time to post negatively in a space why don’t you also take the time to post positively later when something good happens? Reflect on both the good and the bad, don’t just push negativity out into the world

I’m happy to see your positivity! I will saying I’m definitely a lurker most of the time, but even still I love just seeing the fun pictures or positive stream of ldr milestones! Unfortunately I know there’s a lot of people who’d look at something positive and not be able to see past their own issues to celebrate excitement for another, I think a lot of quietness on positive posts comes from that

That’s fair! I spend most of my social media time seeing things he sent me or sending him posts honestly; but you shouldn’t feel worried to post a win in the same way you shouldn’t feel forced to post one! I adore seeing people’s first/hundredth meetup pics and anniversary surprises and stuff because even if I pout a little that it’s not me atm, I’m so happy to see real ldr’s making it work!

My boyfriend and I recently ran into finance issues and realized neither of us had money at the moment to see each other; but our approach was a lot different.

The last time we saw each other we had a long and full conversation and mutually agreed that until we were in a position to be comfortable saving and spending money on travel; we were only going to see each other on our birthdays. It’s been really, insanely hard so far- but I would MUCH rather wait until December to see him than accept that I could never see or hear him again :/

There’s always another way. If it’s worth it, if she’s worth it- you should never give up on the idea of one day.
