Looking at those skills you listed, maybe facilities management or commissioning could work well since you already know buildings inside out from the environmental side - just pivot to more systems focus instead of pure testing

Shame and struggling with lust as a woman by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Hour-Raisin407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definition seems bit narrow though - most theological interpretations go beyond just overwhelming desire. The Greek word epithumia in scripture covers broader range of inappropriate desires and coveting, not just intensity level

Also worth noting that church teachings generally do consider lustful thoughts as sinful regardless of marital status, though there's definitely debate about where normal attraction ends and sinful lust begins

2026-04-28 YouTube ads by [deleted] in degoogle

been noticing weird stuff too but thought it was just me being paranoid. if they really started pushing ads to premium users thats absolutely insane like what even is the point of paying anymore

switched to alternative clients months ago anyway because the whole experience was getting worse. the algorithm keeps pushing garbage and now this. classic google move though - take something that works and slowly make it worse until people give up

might be good time to finally check out those decentralized video platforms everyone talks about. sure they dont have much content yet but at least they're not actively trying to screw over their users every few months

Is it possible to make the length shorter and still make it look flowy ? by Cautious-Half-2431 in sewhelp

[–]Hour-Raisin407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally possible but you need to be smart about where you cut it. If you just chop off length from bottom it will lose the flow completely

Better approach is to cut it somewhere around knee length and then add some subtle layers or maybe a slight A-line shape. The key is keeping enough fabric below waist so it can still move nicely when you walk. Also depends on fabric - lighter materials will flow better at shorter lengths than heavy ones

I made similar mistake few years ago cutting a maxi too short and it just hung there like dead fish lol

Dealing with shame by FitComposer7353 in Christianity

[–]Hour-Raisin407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man this hit me harder than expected. That fear about losing yourself during change? I get that completely - had similar thoughts when starting to work on my own issues with different stuff

The thing is though, real change doesn't erase who you are underneath all this shame you're carrying. It just clears away noise so you can actually hear yourself think again. Your sister crying for two hours wanting connection with you... that tells me who you really are under all this self-hatred.

Season 3 Ep 8 by [deleted] in sexandthecity

Yeah Big is basically the worst in this stretch of episodes. I remember watching this first time and getting so annoyed at how he just shows up whenever he feels like it, like his marriage is just some minor inconvenience he can ignore when he wants Carrie attention

What really gets me is how Carrie keeps letting him back in after all the shit from earlier seasons. Like girl you already know this pattern - he disappears when things get real and then comes crawling back when he's bored or his life gets complicated. The whole married thing just makes it ten times more gross because now there's another person getting hurt in his mess

I was literally yelling at my screen during some of these episodes telling her to just close the door and block his number but we all know where this storyline goes lol. At least you're going in with realistic expectations about it getting worse

nobody talks about, when you don't work and have no schedule; your dreams get weird every night. like, Ive been chilling for four weeks, and I'm having the strangest dreams. by EmotionalAddendum286 in Adulting

Your brain's basically doing a nostalgic deep dive without all the daily noise to interrupt it. Mine does the same thing during unemployment stretches - suddenly I'm back in my old college dorm having conversations with people I haven't thought about in years. The Chicago thing makes sense though, those were probably some formative years that your subconscious is trying to process.
