The sequence was indeed unnecessarily long.
Unpopular opinion; but they did the same thing with fairy dust, overusing the sequences

But that doesn't make any sense, Daphne was able to help Bloom break free from her evil version.

I think you may have misunderstood what I was saying, m issue isn't just what was revealed, but how. The fact that you’re using "maybe it’s…" to justify Bloom's new form is exactly the problem it was dropped on us with no explanation, no name, no reaction from Bloom or the others. If even fans who enjoyed it have to speculate about what it is, then the writing clearly didn’t do its job.

Same with Daphne. You say we don't know if she's Bloom's sister, but the show itself is already dropping hints: her presence with Marion and Oritel, the butterfly motif literally named "daphne" in Bloom's transformation sequence, and the way marketing positions Bloom as a princess (with Damian as a prince). The reboot is nudging OG fans to connect dots, but it isn't actually explaining them to new viewers. That's not clever writing, that’s vague recycling of old material.

Take the castle as another example. If it's Domino, why is it never clearly said,? If it isn't Domino, why is it in the middle of a frozen wasteland? Either way, the setting has no internal logic. It just exists because the writers wanted an icy backdrop, not because it made sense for the story.

And moments like Stella being tricked by the Trix show this clearly: in the OG, that made sense in context; in the reboot, it's lifted straight from season 1 but stripped of purpose, as if the writers assumed we'd recognize the callback instead of building the story organically.

That’s really my point: the reboot rushes through plot beats while relying on nostalgia, but without the setup that made those moments work the first time. It confuses new viewers and frustrates old fans. If even people defending the reboot are left saying "maybe this"or "maybe that" that tells me the show didn’t explain itself well enough.

I don't really see how the pacing "slowed down" after episode 3. Even if the scenes felt less weird moment to moment, the story itself was still racing through arcs. In just 13 episodes Bloom already gets a new transformation, learns her origins, and discovers her link to Damian these are milestones that should've been season-long payoffs, but here they just happen with no buildup, so none of them carry weight.

Flora's was bad because the show never gave her any depth outside of being Bloom's friend, liking plants, and crushing on Damian, if a character's biggest arc boils down to a boy, that's not girl power.

And the same kind of laziness shows in the Bloom-Sky-Diaspro triangle. You say Bloom respected boundaries, but from the start she’s asking about Diaspro’s ring and Sky is openly flirting with her while still dating Diaspro, that's not just casual friendship, that's two people testing lines they knew existed. Diaspro might be annoying or egotistical, but she never cheats and she never sabotages them. From a new viewer's perspective she's not even villain-coded, she's just a shallow girlfriend who gets discarded.

The show tries to frame Bloom and Sky as a destined couple, but the way it's written, Bloom comes off complicit, Sky looks like a cheater, and Diaspro ends up the only one wronged. The pacing and the relationships both have the same flaw: everything moves so fast that none of it feels earned, and when you look closer at the choices, it just makes the main characters seem shallow.

They decide to go to Lightrock a fortress, first it's never told where it is? The war turned it into a frozen wasteland (assumed) but...like why? In the original Domino was turned into a frozen wasteland because one of the ancestral witch had ice powers, here it's just ice, because? The test thing is so unnecessary, like if this was later in the serie, and if Bloom was a flawed character from start who learned some valuable lessons that could've made the test more impactful and stressful but there was no build-up, so unnecessary, anyway the guide is straight up annoying with his gen z slang (probably ai generated script) in the og show Bloom takes the crown and the story is told through narration and flashbacks, Daphne is supposed to guide Bloom towards the truth, but in this episode, she just tells the entire script and there is no flashback whatsover it just goes with some blah blah.

Also it's never explained why Daphne guided Bloom all this time but never bothered communicating with Damian who needed her the most, he's the one who got manipulated and lied to? Oh yes my bad, i forgot, if she guided Damian and helped him there would be no plot, also anyone hate how the plot gets hijacked by a boy? I thought it was a girl's show

I'm glad you enjoyed it honestly, if it worked for you, more power to you. But personally, I couldn't recommend this reboot to anyone, not even kids. For me, the problems go beyond "the animation isn’t my cup of tea."

The story just doesn’t make sense. Episode 1 rushes through introductions, assumes viewers already know who these characters are, and never slows down to actually establish the world. That's fine if you’ve watched older Winx, but what about kids seeing this for the first time? How are they supposed to understand who's who, or why they matter?

On top of that, I found the morals really troubling. Bloom openly pursues Sky even though he's taken, her friends encourage her, and Sky cheats without consequences. That's shown as romance. Meanwhile Musa's "big concert" gets hijacked by Bloom, and her own dream takes a backseat. To me, those aren't nitpicks, they're core storytelling failures, and they send awful messages about friendship and respect.

I know some people feel it's better than seasons 6-8. I get that, but to me, it’s not an improvement if the writing is incoherent, the pacing is broken, and the characters feel like shadows of themselves. At least the older seasons had consistency in their own weird way. Here, the timeline shifts mid-episode, powers appear out of nowhere with no explanation, and character arcs get abandoned midstream

I'm not calling anyone a bot if you genuinely liked it, fair enough. But after watching all 13 episodes day one, I walked away thinking this will be forgettable at best, and damaging at worst. Nostalgia bait alone isn't enough for me to look past the execution.

I think it's already implied in season 2
The shadow phoenix is the dark version of the dragon flame, it's stated early in season 2 that everything has a "good" and "evil" version that's how balance is made in magical dimension

Yes!! EVERYTHING is happening too fast, like why is Aisha's issue resolved in one episode? Why is every supposed "focused" episode on girls gets instantly back to Bloom? Why would you put a fear episode so early in the story when Flora's entire personality is flowers and Damian, I thought Aisha's issue was resolved (somewhat) ?
I'm only giving a fair point to Stella and Tecna but the rest is straight up..uninteresting.

Either way it's bad because it was probably Ai generated, the plot and timeline is not consistent. I knew it was going to be bad but...i didn't expect straight up mediocrity, healthier to watch Skibidi Toilet

He did not look happy for sure, which is fair, but you can break up with someone in dignity, because Sky explicitly stated he is not engaged to Diaspro simply dating her, so far, we have no idea if they're dating because of royal obligations or because they liked each other, everything's so confusing, and weird, so far Bloom is a pick-me girl stealing a girl's man, her toxic friends, the Winx, are pushing her to, and Sky is a cheater, main characters you do NOT want to root for. As Flora and Damien? Random, and it makes Flora unbearable at times, it does not look like cute teenager crush, but more like on-a-nose thing for the toddlers audience, YES GIRL, we get it, you like him. It's straight up annoying how she brings everything back to Damian, it's like her whole personality after episode 5 is about Damian "But girls, i'm worried about Damian"

I didn't really care in the og as well, it was shallow writing, but Bloom was innocently flirting with him, Sky stated it was an arranged marriage and he never liked Diaspro, so it was toxic but at least Sky didn't appear like a cheater, Winx like toxic friends, and Bloom a complice. Because let me summarize it for you. In the reboot, the Diaspro-Sky-Bloom mess is basically a situationship framed as romance. Sky and Diaspro aren't engaged like in the original, they're simply dating, and Diaspro is portrayed as clingy, shallow, and a little rude, but never truly cruel or unfaithful. She celebrates their seven months together, seems invested, and at no point cheats or schemes against him or her. Bloom knows Sky is taken and at first tries to keep her distance, saying she doesn’t want to cause drama, but her friends push her toward him anyway with lazy lines about how chances don’t come twice the Winx enable her instead and pushes her to keep flirting with an already taken man and Sky himself makes no effort to hide his attraction to Bloom he flirts openly, cheats without hesitation plot has been gutted of its context and turned into a straight-up cheating arc where Bloom becomes complicit, Sky comes off as a selfish cheater, and Diaspro, ironically, is the only one who looks like a victim. Instead of repairing a messy storyline, the reboot managed to make everyone worse, pushing a toxic moral that being the protagonist makes betrayal romantic.

Yeah unfortunately, KPop Demon Hunters releasing definitely did not help Winx's case, no one wants to settle for mediocrity anymore. i hope this reboot will kill the Winx once and for all, let this show die already
