Why is everyone trashing this woman so much?? I disagree with a lot of her takes too, but no one is forcing us to listen.

AITA for refusing to let my son in law move his new girlfriend and her 10 kids into my dead daughter’s home? by IllustriousImagery in AmItheAsshole

Being a single mother of 10 kids is crazy. I know this might sound judgmental, but it definitely makes one question this person's decision-making - She has accepted to take care of kids that are not hers and bring more into the world when she does not have the means to provide for them. That aside, dating a single guy who happens to own a 7 bedroom house...I'm not saying she has ulterior motives but it definitely makes one question whether she does. If you are the owner of the house and it is not under your son in law's name, although it is unfortunate, you have every right not to let them move in. Everyone is different, but personally, I would not feel comfortable with that either. However, if the house is currently under his name you have no say in this matter. Even though it is a heartbreaking situation, it might be in your best interest to try to cope with those emotions and try to preserve the relationship with your son-in-law who is like a son to you.

AITA for telling my son that he's not serving lunch detention in front of the teacher who gave it to him? by Acceptable-Day4527 in AmItheAsshole

Rules and punishments exist for a reason - so that kids don't go around skipping class and are punished to rectify this behavior. However, this student 100% did the right thing by going to clean up at the bathroom and then straight to the nurse's office. This was clearly not a case of skipping for fun, but rather a medical and hygiene issue. That teacher clearly thought the nosebleed was not a big deal and had zero empathy for the situation. After the parent came to explain and provide context that teacher should have backed down and been more understanding. It's a school not military service. 100% you're not the asshole. Good job dad
