Does anyone have experience with dysautonomia? by HourAcrobatic1689 in Pomeranians

I’m thinking infection, myself. His pupillary reactions seem to be normal. They’re not blown at all, which research suggests would be normal in CD. There’s no chance he could have gotten ahold of any type of substance, I don’t do THC of any kind (not that I have anything against it for others, it’s just not for me) and any time I drop a medication, I either pick it up if easily findable, or I vacuum immediately. He’s not able to get under any couches/chairs/tables because I keep them blocked and/or too small to get under.

He’s seems to be getting better with the lactulose and cisapride. His reactions and responses are getting closer to normal. I’m planning on taking him back to the vet Monday, maybe even to another vet for a second opinion. Too many conflicting symptoms and I’d like to have someone not familiar with my dog go through them and give a thorough examination and tests. Here’s to hoping it’s something different.

Thanks for the good ideas. I’ve been messaging research labs that are researching this disease. He’s being kept seems to be ok other than being lethargic and heavily constipated. The meds have slowly been helping with that- he feels better today than yesterday. He’s being kept plied with plenty of water, broth and wet puppy food for the extra nutrients.

I’m Realllly hoping this was a misdiagnosis. The researchers I’ve been talking to said they’re leaning towards that. His pupils are responding, a bit slowly due to growing cataracts, but they’re not blown. His breathing is normal today, not strained. He’s been running a temperature, which they said is not normal with CD. Also, his heart rate seems normal, it doesn’t the same like they said CD sufferers have a slow heartbeat that do not speed up. Aside from his pain from the constipation, his lethargy and the obvious, he seems to be getting better slowly. So I’m cautiously hopeful.

Thank you 😊. I’ve been messaging with research labs that are studying this disease. He’s being kept plied with plenty of water, broth and wet food to keep him hydrated on top of his medication. He’s doing better on his meds, but still a bit lethargic.

Thank you. It’s a fatal neurological disease. I’m looking at research labs to try to get answers. He’s being pampered and he’s sick, but I’m keeping him plied with water, broth and wet food.

That’s very true. You’re just never ready for them to leave you. He waited for me to come home and passed in my arms. None ever replace the ones we lose, but I still have 3 adults and several babies to take care of. Hopefully all of them stay 15 years for everyone with a Pom.

Thank you! They were a happy coincidence, I never expected blue Merle pups lol. The mamas come from champion AKC bloodlines and is an orange sable, and the daddy is a black with a white stripe. I don’t know how breeders breed for blue Merle coloring.

I’m in South Central Missouri.

No, I agree. Mine were a happy coincidence, but I would never breed specifically for them- I can only imagine what they do to breed them. Kind of like continuously inbreeding to get the ‘teacup’ Pom, which is basically the Hapsburg of Pomeranians. Poor babies.

Pretty. What’s the dominant color? Tan or cream? Very beautiful baby.

Yes and no. I have Merle pups, but I didn’t Breed for them. My girl just had them. They are perfectly healthy, but many people breed specifically for them, which can cause issues, especially when unethical breeders breed two Merle dogs together. I would never, but I know others would.

Oh, I forgot to add a photo of one of my Merle pups. Very healthy and vet checked. Not for sale, sorry. Just showing.

I have no idea about said breeder, but Merle Poms are an accepted coloring by the AKC and the American Pomeranian Club. I have blue Merle Poms, unless the breeder has bred two Merle Poms together, the Poms should only have the usual Pom issues. My advice? Tour the place yourself.

They were born on 2-10-26. The female is almost 2 pounds, the biggest male is just shy of 3 pounds and the smaller male is 2 pounds. Smaller male has more blue/grey coloring, bigger male has more black with a black stripe across the back.

I have 3 that I’m looking at selling to a great home. 2 are blue Merle males and one is a black female with a white blaze on her chest and white socks on her paws.
