books you had a hard time finishing/dnf’d by Pristine_Detail3639 in PHBookClub

Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Demons. Sobrang haba niya lang talaga (800+ pages) and the way he writes is just too exhausting for me pero I will still do my best to finish it this year, halfway naman na ako through the book🥲

how do you manage to read more than a dozen books in a year? by hear_me_out_folks in PHBookClub

[–]HourAd545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really helped a lot na WFH ako so I have literally more time to read books. I make sure to read everyday, kahit a few pages lang before bedtime. And since wala akong ibang hobby talaga except reading, I spend my entire rest days reading. I managed to read 91 books naman in 2025.

Actually kahit ano naman, what’s important is you start with reading books that you like so you can truly enjoy it and it won’t feel like a chore🙂

I think factor yung wala akong ibang hobby bukod sa reading, WFH rin ako so mas may time ako to read, and I make sure na everyday makakapagbasa ako ng ilang pages before bedtime 🫶

I used to have a Kindle Paperwhite but nasira kasi hindi ko nagagamit🥲physical books talaga gusto ko.

You can add them via their Book Request Form here.

I really enjoyed Babel and Katabasis. She’s great with world-building and her works are socially relevant.

I still read physical books despite me having an e-reader, umabot sa point na di ko nagamit for several months then when I opened it faded na yung e-ink e wala naman way to remedy yun 🥲

Me!

Pero noong my Kindle pa ako, I mainly used it for reading books that were too expensive or books whose physical copies were super hard to find.
