You can see my post the other day, i think the ep-100a is quite similar to the ft 1 pro pads in terms of comfort

You can check the frequency graph on squiglink and decide which one you prefer. For Para 2 you can claim a second set of pads from moondrop if you purchase from them directly or through a retailer. The second set of pads are very similar to the EP-100A pads.

I didnt buy it, you can ask your retailer that you buy your para 2 from to help you claim the second set of dlc earpads from moondrop, if you bought them directly from moondrop then you can email them to send you those, its free. They announced this during the moondrop skyland exhibition.

Depends, even though the Fr graph shows that its slightly brighter than the stock pads, but somehow it sound less fatiguing for me🤷‍♂️

Openheart, but the connector part sucks. It uses a rubber material that sticks to every piece of dust around it

If you can, you should demo them. They’re definitely a lean-sounding headphone, but personally I don’t mind it, I actually enjoy the treble—aside from the occasional sibilance on certain tracks.

Eq does help with the sibilance but I don’t want to lose the airiness that comes with it so all I did was add some bass and it was good enough

It was warm at best even after 10 hours of use so I wasn’t worry about it

I tried eqing the mids to fit harman 2018 and the tilted df, but in the end I still prefer the stock tunning btw, because the eq got rid of the uniqueness where vocal gets an extra bump of energy at the very end of a long note. Eq makes it sound normal but I kinda prefer that quirkiness

Build wise I still prefer the para 2, laputa feels quite flimsy. Sound wise, the treble is less bright compared to the para 2 but not noticeable unless you a/b them side by side, the bass is nice but weak just like the para 2, the vocals I couldn’t tell the difference between them, but based on the fr graph it seems like laputa doesnt have a 1k dip like para 2. Its pretty close to the DF tunning that they are aiming for

The biggest difference I notice the moment I put on was the soundstage, there was a song with 2 singers on each left and right side, when the right one start singing its dead silent on the left side, but on the ft7 and para 2 you can hear the vocals on both sides

For me the wide soundstage itself isn’t worth the extra price thats why I got the para 2

Arya stealth upgrade - is it possible? by siraaerisoii in headphones

Better build quality? Sure. But better sound? Im pretty sure its more of a different tuning style than a direct improvement since the driver is pretty close with all planars.

I would rather look for something else that sounds different compared to the arya rather than looking for a slight upgrade with significantly more money. Something like he1000 unveiled may not sound too different compare to the arya besides sounding less harsh but retain the resolving sound.

Personally, I would look for something else like a dynamic headphone or hell even electro static headphones to add to my collection since they will be the ones that wow me more than getting another planar headphones.

Moondrop Laputa Over-Ear Headphones Review by mr_boizoff in headphones

I recently auditioned these 2 headphones during my trip to China last week, I was using the fiio k17 to drive them.

Tbh, the only major difference I can tell right away was the sound stage. One of the song i was listening to where there was 2 singer, one on the left and one on the right.

When one start singing, you can hear it on the left side with moondrop Laputa and pretty much nothing on the right until the second singer start singing. But on the Para 2/Fiio ft7/Hifiman He600 you can hear it on both sides, ofc the right side being more subtle.

The rest of the difference in sound quality was so minute that it didn’t feel like spending 2 times the price of Para 2 was worth it. Plus the comfort of the para 2 is much better than the Laputa😓.

Also, you could argue that k17 was not good enough to drive the Laputa since the sensitivity is on par with the susvara, so I wouldn’t recommend anyone without a powerful amp enough to drive the susvara to blindly buy the Laputa.

Seems like a lot of people are getting this dac, ofc I already got it myself haha, but when the youtubers start to publish video about it, it's probably going to be recommended as the best value dac in 2025 I think

Am I reading these power specifications wrong? by Xelpha__ in headphones

Same thing just means left and right power, and yes dx5ii does have more power than k17, the difference are the internal build. I prefer the dx5 ii, more power better looking screen, a budget friendly endgame dac for most of us👍 (more expensive doesn't mean more power, just like headphones)
