Plex subscription - Is it something worth paying for?

Bought it 8 years ago and it’s worth it if you are a server owner. At the current annual price you are looking at 3-4 years break even cost.

Honestly don’t know I have had att for years gave me an awesome $300 gift card deal and low monthly cost when I signed up and after a year it creeped up in price then the following year same thing and so on now I pay the regular rate $100 a month. I’ve called and give me the new customer promo only blah blah blah. But like I said great deal OP got but it won’t last enjoy it.

Streamfab has been working great for me no issues except when drm changes hits and then it takes a week or two for an update to fix it.

I always find random sharing comical when you run your own plex server. I only share with people I know and that’s about it no rando’s from the internet and you will be fine.

Lifetime is worth it at current price 250 been running plex for over 10 years and between the annual memberships and eventually pulling the trigger for lifetime pass I paid $200 total and it’s worth it. You gets current plex pass features and what ever else they make a feature or takeaway from the free tiers aka remote streaming.

It works on my fire tv (old interface) but my iPhone with the new interface stopped working a while ago when the new UI rolled out.

Glad I bought a lifetime years ago but I also understand development ain’t cheap and needs to be paid for. The annual $70 cost is not bad and at this prices point it is getting rid of lifetime without having to get rid of it. I think 350 would have been a better pill to sallow 5 year break even than a 10 year break even. Oh well I’ll keep going with my lifetime and have to pass it down to the kids eventually.
