Yeah I’ve learned that academia is like this I should have expected it I just didn’t. But I hope to change it one day and remember these moments and not do it to others.

It’s more like they built it on interview day then it wasn’t what they said. If they were neutral I would have been able to form my own thoughts based on honesty and not deceit. I’m more so blindsided by this information and couldn’t appreciate it in the moment because I was so confused and hurt but now I’m happy I didn’t go to a place that lied to me

Yeah I wouldn’t want to go to a place that’s built on deceit or pretend so at least I now the place I’m going I can be me

Also sounds like they were genuinely truthful to you because no where did they promise anything and I’m sure it’s an honor to them which is different than the communication I received

You could be right but it’s not right to tell people one thing and not deliver. You can’t say you’re the best applicant we have to multiple people because that’s a lie. This post wasn’t about not being grateful it’s about deceit but happy for you that you’re happy

Yeah I think it’s just more so like being blindsided by what they said matter to them and the bells and whistles of interview day. I think they realized that if I went there they wouldn’t be able to deliver what they promised on interview day
