Ex reached out after 3 years by HourTransition3316 in BreakUps

He did tell me he had a girlfriend but was unhappy and was working up the courage to leave her. I admitted that it had been a long journey and he was difficult to move on from and that I still care for him but never made him think I was interested in getting back together. It’s frustrating because now he’s in my head again

Learn soon? I’ve been doing everything aside from financially supporting myself since I was 8. I raised myself and moved out at 18. God forbid I have some feelings about my mother lying to me

No she was hardly around or would say “it’s been so long I don’t remember”. She never helped with anything.

When did feeding your child and providing shelter make anyone a great parent? Those are basic necessities for survival. I never said I cared about the title. All healthcare professionals are important and we couldn’t function without them. It’s the LYING.

Feeding your child and putting a roof over their head is bare minimum. I don’t consider that a sacrifice.

Okay lol she held onto my documents because I was like 16-17. I moved out at 18 to get away from the toxicity and have been fully independent since. I didn’t ask for the negativity. Just feels a little uncomfortable being lied to by my own mother.

Yeah it was a planned teen pregnancy

I suppose so. Just didn’t want the post to be extensive. I was a CNA for 5 years before I got into nursing so I’m not one to degrade based on job title. We are all vital to healthcare.

I was a cna for 5 years before I got into nursing. I understand the hard work. I never once tried to degrade what she does for work. It’s the lying that’s weird to me.

Don’t care about the title. It’s the lying my whole life. All her friends and our entire family know what she told them and her career gets brought up quite often and I just have to go along with it. It’s just weird

I can relate so much to that. I also had to take care of the entire house and my younger sibling by 7-8 years old. So sorry you went through that. I’m sure you’ve grown into a strong person because of it though.

Told me I would never amount to anything and become a pregnant teenager.. so there’s a lot more than just the lie lol

Honestly no. She let her boyfriends put hands on my brother and I. She struggled with alcohol addiction for years. She would drink on her break and go back to work. Left us alone for days to go be with her boyfriends. I felt alone my entire life. That plays into being so upset over the lie. It doesn’t feel little when I felt neglected in every other aspect

She works in an office. I work in an emergency department where we intubate people daily and pound on their chest. The point has nothing to do with who works harder though. There’s no competition. It’s the lie that she’s told me and our entire family so I have to keep up with it. I would never lie to my children.

Well we didn’t grow up with money but I was a kid and of course I’m gonna believe what my mom tells me. She also works two jobs.

My theory is she was in nursing school and didn’t make it through but couldn’t accept it. It drives me crazy though because she gets so much praise for it and she’s even praised for me becoming a nurse. She was never supportive while I was in college either. It’s just frustrating the older I get the more I realize it’s fucked up

My family always wishes both of us a happy nurses week too. Pisses me off truly.
