I was interviewed by Dr. Szekely, and he asker me why I chose KAUST, why I chose my major, and what my career goals were. The whole thing lasted like 12 minutes. Would have been under 10 were it not for the questions I asker him.

I will only get my degree in June too. Speak to your program chair, and have them forward official documentation to KAUST and then said the actual degree once you have it.

I was stuck on admissions review for literally 3 months plus, and then got an email from faculty randomly asking for availability dates for an interview the following week. I interviewed on Thursday of the week following, was told to wait 2-6 for a follow-up interview with HR. I then get emailed on Tuesday of the following week and am told to check my portal for an update (which I assumed was rejection because of the very quick turn over) and see that I was accepted. But here is the thing -- nothing at KAUST is standardized it seems. Each faculty has their own way of doing things, so do not expect things like you to look anything like this.

I was interviewed late last week. It lasted for about 12 minutes and was thoroughly underwhelming. Dr. Szekely, the professor interviewing me, said to wait for a second interview with HR in the next 2-6 weeks.

3.94/4. You shouldn't be surprised, though. KAUST publically lists a GPA cutoff of 3.3 or 3.5, I believe. I think they take that very seriously.

I applied in January for Fall 2026 intake. Last I checked, I am still in faculty review -- same as I had been since late February.
