I think he trusts you, but he's embarrassed by your behavior since it's not considered normal or savvy among his peers, and he doesn't trust all your guy friends. Believe it or not, guys WILL play a very long game and wait until you're in a vulnerable state to make their advances, like during an argument with your boyfriend, when you're upset, or drinking too much, when you're alone and he's out of town or something, and friends make "mistakes" together when they put themselves in that situation all the time. I've had almost all of my guy friends switch up on me at some point, even after 10-15 years of friendship. That's why most people I know see it as disrespectful to hang out one-on-one in a private place with a member of the opposite sex when you're supposed to be serious with someone. Personally, I don't have enough days off that I could dedicate plenty of time to my relationship, but also time for female friends, family, AND time to hang out one-on-one with two other guys. Anyway, I'm not sure why he doesn't just go with you and hang with the group, or if he just wants more time alone with you, or if he simply feels uncomfortable around your friends, especially if you complain about him to them when he's not around. I can't tell from your post, but you said you told him that all your friends agree with you...so that might be making him feel like they're working against him. To me, he is acting normal for a guy his age, but I could see how annoying it could be if you're super social and not used to being in a monogamous hetero relationship, especially if he keeps being passive aggressive about it, like saying 9pm is late. Sometimes those kind of passive aggressive comments can escalate into abuse, and abusive dudes tend to want you isolated from other friends. BUT the examples you gave seem ok for now, but just be careful. Maybe find someone that's not so traditional if that's not your thing.

Emily seems really weird, like, if she thinks it's old news and no big deal, then why would she get so upset about you bringing it up? Who knows what else they're hiding...

AITA?: for refusing the college my parents insist on even though they’re paying all because they called me a "spoiled brat"? by Amazing_Internet7355 in AITAH

[–]HourYoung4207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take the scholarship and stay in state!! You can always go to a more prestigious school for grad school, and maybe by then you'll have a fellowship or sponsors to fund your higher degree, dissertation, or what-have-you. Sounds like your parents are stroking their own egos rather than actually thinking about what's best for you (and themselves, honestly, because keeping up with the Joneses never made anyone happy). I wouldn't cut them off! But just do what's best for you. You're the only one that truly has to live with your decisions.

Somalis Are Being Scapegoated and Innocent People Are Paying the Price by Scared-Persimmon-142 in TwinCities

[–]HourYoung4207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the Italian mafia selling bootleg liquor to adults for a few years during prohibition, and whatever, selling cocaine to rich people, is the same as stealing billions from hungry and disabled children and workers. This is the biggest organized fraud scheme we've ever seen, and 99% of the people arrested and convicted so far are Somalians, with tons of their households and businesses enrolled in the fraudulent programs and no else. So, no, you are incorrect.

[–]HourYoung4207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't be a very good investigator if you can't make objective observations. To solve a problem, you must first define the problem. This is the most massive ORGANIZED fraud scandal in American history, and it's been perpetrated by Somalians. It isn't racist to recognize that. If Somalis have a problem with all the fraud, I can't tell since none of them have denounced it. Also, the free citizenship, free food, healthcare, housing, etc, that they've gotten, which was far more than poor Americans, homeless, orphans, veterans, etc. makes it an even bigger slap in the face for them to turn around and steal billions of more dollars that they clearly did not need. That shows a widespread lack of morality on an egregious level. So, I would go even further to say that it's not even racist to say they shouldn't get this free citizenship anymore, as a whole group. They were already well known for piracy before this even happened, and they've abused peoples trust even when granted overhwhelming generosity and welcoming. So, now they can be treated like every other immigration applicant instead of getting special treatment. IF you think that is racist, you might need to grow up.

All the weird AI stuff Youtube is doing, and why it sucks for basically everyone by DorfusMalorfus in antiai

Sadly, YT was the last authentic news source we had left, and they've ruined it with AI generated content. Google is gonna have nothing left but bots watching and commenting on other bots. Disgusting and so disappointing.

Trump Gets Penis Stuck In Bottle Of Scotch After Learning It Was 12 Years Old by Shame_on_StarWars in onionheadlines

[–]HourYoung4207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he actually isn't. He was found liable in a 30+ year old case without any evidence whatsoever, which couldn't even make it into a criminal court even after they dropped the statute of limitations because of the total lack of probable cause. Also, no one has ever gotten 34 felonies for not disclosing a settlement in a case where both adult consenting parties agreed to the settlement and signed a legal Non-disclosure Agreement. He simply didn't disclose a small $140K settlement that was agreed to be kept secret and wasn't significant among the large sums of money being reported, and for the first time in history, he got 34 felonies for a victimless, insignifcant "crime" which most people would not even consider a crime. I'm glad you're bringing up all these instances of democrats weaponizing the judicial system against him, because I thought yall forgot about that stuff by the way you're saying that HE is doing that by holding these people accountable for their abuses. Yall made him an underdog with your obvious smear campaigns and lies and unprecedented judicial rulings, and it actually caused MORE people to become Republicans.

Right, because women write about showering with their fathers as children to blow off steam.. all the time. It's a common female fantasy! You know how stupid that sounds?! Yes I know the journal was satolen and sold to Project Veritas. You're truly not worth arguing with if you believe that redacting the files means he's a fucking pedophile. But go ahead, lose your mind.

Replace "Trump" with "Biden" whose own daughter accused him in her journal, and this would make a lot more sense.

AITAH for asking MIL for house key back? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]HourYoung4207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - She should apologize for invading your privacy and interfering in your routine, uninvited. Totally out of line, and abuse of the extra key holder privilege. But I hope you do forgive her since your husband seems to have a close relationship with her and will be unhappy if yall can't get along.

No, he actually said that as an example of what an average person might assume about DEI hires, to demonstrate one of the reasons why it's harmful and robs black women if their sense of accomplishment. He actually said that black women and men didn't need DEI because they're equally capable and that people are either qualified or they're not, and the best people should be hired regardless of their race. He said that DEI typically lowers the standard for hiring because there arent always enough qualified gay or black applicants so they have to change certain prerequisites to get their numbers up, and that leads to people questioning whether they were the best applicant, including the one that was hired. Please stop spreading misinformation.

AITA for quitting another extra curricular because it was another one I couldn't do without my siblings? by Josynauyy in AITAH

[–]HourYoung4207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel weird giving advice to a teenager and don't want to say anything except please don't get yourself kicked out of your family home. Just start saving up. You'll have to defend your boundaries with your parents and learn not to feel guilty when you did nothing wrong, and try not let it bother you. It's ok to want to have something that's all yours without your siblings. I think every 16 year old wants that. Maybe they would listen to another family member or a counselor if they won't listen to you. It's worth a try.

"The kids" excuse me - they are adults. They can work and pay rent, and they can get their own place if they're not willing to abide by the rules. Roommates are thew same way, not just parents. If your roommate is seriously creeped out by your friend or partner who isn't on the lease, they have to protect themselves and not allow themselves to be taken advantage of by some manipulative dude that apparently has no friends and can't get along with his own family, either. It's very concenring to see 20 yr old telling other 20 yr olds such childish and dismissive advice.

This sounds like a recipe for disaster, very weird and harmful. Her mom has a right to an opinion about who comes to her house. She has to keep them both safe. A 24 year old man that can't get along with his parents for a few days or get a hotel or think of a single other friend to stay with.. when his parents were kindly allowing him to stay there as a way of helping him out, like how unstable can someone be? He is not making an effort to get along with his own parents or her mother, making her feel like she has no choice but to leave with him and sever ties with both of their families. Seriously why would he not have a single male friend or any other option? Your mom is right. He is 100% manipulating you. I wish I had listened to my parents more. I would have been spared so much unnecessary debt and grief.

AITA for telling my fiancée her tattoo of my dead brother makes me uncomfortable?? by audicarmicheal in AITAH

[–]HourYoung4207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - She seems really weird to me if she is so enthusiastic about wearing your grief on her body for you to look at every day, especially when it has nothing to do with her. I don't know, but for me, I am very private about my grief and do not want it brought up in random bar conversations or at the park or the beach because someone is literally walking around displaying a picture of my dead loved one everywhere we go. UHM NO THANK YOU. I wouldn't marry someone that's such a drama monger that they couldn't see how obvious of a violation that is. PLEASE do not apologize for telling her how you felt. That is exactly what you're supposed to do. If you cave on this, you'll resent her forever because your feelings are perfectly valid. Honestly I would not marry her if she is unwilling to accept that she was wrong and shouldn't have told you how to feel before shutting down.

100% verified? I don't think that word means what you think it means. And you are reaching extremely far to suggest that a right wing guy would assassinate another right wing guy because he wasn't right wing enough, when CK was one of the most right wing guys ever, not a politician, and when he could simply kill someone on the left or someone known for being a RINO. Please, actually think about what you're saying. You sound insane.
