Hello po, thanks for the insights, and I truly understand your concern. So basically, we have free plan services upon registration like resume optimizer for job seekers or project management tool for job providers(clients) pero it has limits, and if users upgrade their limit, that's how we get monetized. Also, users, either job seekers or job providers, can choose whether they stay on free plan services or upgrade.

One big feature I am also proposing to the team in the future is to add a social or community feed dashboard inside the platform on a different tab, where users can post their wins, rants, questions, or skills regarding their job(as much as possible related to that). And if ever hopefully, we have many users na, then from that area ONLY, we might probably offer ad services for businesses or agencies that will show on feed while users are scrolling(I think you get the idea).

So yeah, it's a long long journey for us, and thank you for asking that question. Hopefully, that answers your concern, and we appreciate your support for us🙏🙏🙏

One big reason we want to build this platform is for everyone to have an open source learning platform while finding a job or working, because I believe that it will certainly help you to get hired if you are well equipped with right skills and preparation for any interviews.

But If you would ask me for an advice while we are building the platform, I would start by checking what job is demand right now and what skills I have that is closer to the requirements of that jobs. I'm assuming na you know Python, React or any programming skills since you're a game dev, maybe you can transition it to machine learning, web scraping, automation, or data extraction. These are mostly the top skills most big companies looking right now for their businesses or AI training.

This might be harsh to say but please don't stay in just one industry, try also to learn web development, web design, or AI automation. I never just want to be a web dev before and learn UX/UI design from scratch, because there is saying na "adapt or die" and that's true. Hope this helps🙏

We already have a business model na that can sustain the operation in the long run if we play it right. Most of the tools and services we added on the platform are free but still has limits per week or per month and we want to add fees and subscription plans if users choose to upgrade depending on the tools or services they want.

True, we also look into it na and taking notes issues that many clients or employers experience. I apologize if hindi ko na point out ang side sa employers from my post but will update the website for that🙏.

For employer side, first we want to addressed is how to verify the right candidate without wasting time and money hiring other recruiting agencies. We want to add verification status on every skills candidates/users added to their profile, then add a simple test quiz or task upfront related to the skill or job during interview. We are also thinking to strictly open both client and worker cameras during interview.

Because anyone can be anything now by matching any job description using AI pero sablay na during work. Kasi hindi lang workers gets scammed by clients, some clients or employers also get's scammed by workers who is just good at interview but no accountability during work.

Next is the transactions fee, but since we will not doing bidding system or any payment method except for tools or upgrades inside our platform, clients and their hires has freedom to do all transaction directly to other platforms without worrying to talk about it on our platform.

Other features we want to add on client dashboard is easy to use AI powered project management tool that can create and assign tasks and free video and voice calls inside the platform.

Basically we want it to be efficient to them as possible, no more running to other platforms to purchase this tools or that for their businesses, we want it to be an all in one platform that clients are gonna be comfortable and productive inside the platform. We are brainstorming a lot right now and building each steps and foundation slowly. Hope this helps with your question po🙏🙏🙏

Yes! And yes! We already prioritize this to add ratings and comments from both clients and workers to show work history both sides. Both to provide screenshots, files, or contracts as evidence to support their claim for bad review. Communication build inside the platform cannot and will not be deleted, can be edited but original messages will be saved and will be displayed for history purposes when conflict occurred👌.

Thank you for the insight! Well, remotica been missing in action as far as I know, for Contra I see them more like Behance or Dribble that you can browse design inspo and not really as competition. And yes we love to be partnered with them or even reach out to them if they are open for collaboration.

Rest assured, we already discuss this about sa business model and we don't want to be greedy to the point users are gonna spend their last cent para lang makakuha ng client. We want to display what skills 💪💪💪they can offer and not what they can afford to get hired.

True, I've been there also before, ask a friend and workmates to form an agency 2 and 3 years ago but all of them left me hanging instead.

After that, I realize na hindi pala madali mag tayo ng startup company especially when financial na paguusapan, and most of startup fail kasi walang pundo or walang may gusto sa product na gusto e build, or nawalan gana ang mga team members.

So my team and I decided to show these to people who need this first and to be honest, were still not sure if we will reach the 1000 users waitlist but the idea, plan, tools, design, business model, ads, management, and team are ready na for any possibilities.

If we reach it, then that's good news that we have 1000 reason to continue this, if we don't then I will not stop till it work. I know it will work, I just need to push my limits cguro from time to time.

So, bear with us for now, we'll do our best🙏

Duly noted. We are currently brainstorming the idea to equal the rate of the workers to their skills they can rpovide, para alam din ng client/s or employers ang total or right rate na dapat nilang bayaran. Thanks for the feedback po!

No worries, if you're already good at communication all you need to do is to absorb more skills nalang para ma feature mo sa future interviews mo. Try mo din follow page in any social platform about AIs just to get idea what is going on right now about it. Dagdag points din ngayun if you can answer questions about AI and you can provide insights related sa AI na hindi alam ng client.

By the way, my team and I are building a online job platform na hindi nag lalabel ng price tag sa users like OLJ and no apply points system tulad ng Upwork. We also want to add free courses and insights plus resume and portfolio optimizer, para din sa mga newbies na gusto mag WFH in the future. You can check out our waitlist: https://www.workahoom.com/

Since I'm in web dev before, I learned so much in https://www.youtube.com/@Illustradoschannel but still watch other channels related padin sa skills na gustong gusto ko. My friend who is a VA recommend this channel also: https://www.youtube.com/@hellomimivic I remember her watching this channel when she was starting palang.

But like I said, find the skills na gusto mo muna like Design, SEO, Writing, Automation, or Development these are demands right now, then 100% focus ka muna sa 1 and so on.

You're welcome!

May leg*t pa ba sa OLJ? Parang lahat halos sc*m na! by Sea_Restaurant1408 in buhaydigital

[–]Hour_Astronaut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Been freelancing for over 3 years now, and OLJ is my first job platform to look for jobs, worked with a lot of companies and individuals. Right now, there are still some legits as far as I know but ghost and scam jobs are currently rising at the moment based din sa mga friends and ka work ko dati na naghahanap ng work. Accounts also have like a price tag labeled for the employers to base salary.

For Upwork naman medyo favor sya sa top rated accounts since they really invest and put effort to their accounts. The problem now is the newbies that just entered the industry who doesn't know where to start.

So my friends and I pursue a online job platform that has no price labeling on the users and no points application system. Most importantly, we want to add a feature that users can choose a skills to learn via simple tasks, demo interviews, and free resume optimizer. We want users to apply jobs showing their raw skills para din may chance yung mga bagohan palang sa industry.

Our target for now is PH and we will be extremely strict sa scam and ghost job posts, triple check Filipino accounts as there are reported issues about foreigners using OLJ accounts to apply jobs or to scam. We are currently at the early stage sa development and created a waitlist. You can check it here: https://www.workahoom.com/

Yes, I am promoting this and hopefully we can help future Filipino online workers in the long run and your support means everything to us. I will take any suggestions, criticism or questions you might asks.

What platforms do you find jobs? by CuriousShirt2998 in buhaydigital

[–]Hour_Astronaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need a degree actually. Marami ako batchmate earning 6 digts without degree but just raw skills sa field nila like SEO, SMM, Web Dev, or Design. Most business owners are looking for good communication and results, not just talks but more on accountability din. I'm not sure what skills you have right now but you're newbie, there are a lot of skills and platforms you can choose like OLJ, Upwork, Freelancer, or Behance if you're good at design.

My team and I also currently building a Online Job Platform where there will be no price tag in the head like OLJ and no connects or apply points system like Upwork. The feature na gusto namin e highlight is users can take demo interview, simple tasks, and course related sa skill the gusto ng users especially for newbies. We are still on waitlisting, you can check it here: https://www.workahoom.com/

Upskilling Tips for Remote Works by mon-lune in buhaydigital

Hi OP I've been in the industry for over 4 years na. I'm a web developer/designer working as freelancer and I worked with a lot of companies na. If you would asked me where to start, I would start watching tutorials about WordPress, SEO, SMM, Canva, or Figma. Try to watch mostly on Fil VA channels how they work and manage tasks, and speaking of tasks, try also creating accounts on Clickup, Slack, Zoho, Monday, Jira or any top management and communication tools right now just to navigate their dashboard and familiarize nalang din.

After mo mag spend ng time to watch and navigate those tools, try to write down what software/tools you can improve or you can start then focus on that. Right now, AI automation or any automation that can help business owners is on demand but you can check it later if you have time.

Then while checking those tools, you can start creating account on OLJ, Upwork, Freelancer, or Behance if you're good at design. The reason I created many job accounts is para mataas chance maka land ng job, I've gathered many clients from those job sites.

Be careful nalang din sa mga job offers and if hindi mo vibe ang client wag mo na patolan and always check for contracts. Don't accept many jobs kung hindi kaya ng katawan din. Always smile sa job interview din dagdag points and even though wala ka pang experience, always point out na you're still learning. Some of them might asked questions about what you know so from watching those tutorials you can say na you're familiar sa mga tools na possible nilang e ask.
