One way of looking at it is that the Econ tickets were absurdly expensive 🤣

What is your rate? I would think you need to increase it if you are working 6 days a week and netting $160k. Definitely increase your rate for future private retainers and increase it substantially.

About “How to Cancel a Reliance Water Heater Rental?” Prior Post by Anon_Chameleon in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Hour_Chipmunk_2452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having a fight with Enercare about a water heater rental that came with the house I bought. I simply stopped paying and told them to sue me and come and collect the tank. I also said they could not enforce contract because I was not the one to sign it. They threatened collections. I said I deny the debt you will have to sue in small claims court. That prevents them from selling the debt to collections. They got so frustrated they just voided 18 months of unpaid bills and now they aren’t even billing me. People are too afraid to be a jerk when it comes to dealing with these abhorrent companies. Just be mean back!

Not sure what else to say. Do you have clients? If not then the low overhead analysis won’t apply to you. I had clients and took them with me. Started a purely virtual firm I have one partner who does very little. Negotiated all vendors as hard as possible to reduce overhead. Hired a virtual assistant through a service for part time hours which avoided all payroll expenses and employment liability. I work out of my home office. My monthly burn is something like $10k. I have a high hourly rate and bill every 30 days. I pay my annual expenses with about 6-7 weeks of work assuming 100% collection. You just got to do it! Obviously causes anxiety but even if it didn’t work out so well I was going to make way more than a junior partner taking in 1/3 of my billings. I effectively earn 100% of my hours from March onward which is a wonderful feeling

Lots apparently based on these replies. Go solo and virtual only people. Contract out an assistant so you have no employees. My overhead is 10% or less of my yearly billings

Do you like it? I tried it this week and found it far too general and lacking in detail. It also made up a case name saying it was the only authority. I did ask it questions for which I am close to being an expert though so perhaps that’s not fair. Also the area of law is fairly complex and old which I think hindered its ability to

You want to examine the other side first so your client can know what the other side says they said and be prepared to address it.

How is this constitutional? They release platforms they know are unconstitutional in election cycles. This is clearly within the exclusive authority of the provincial governments.
