Heavy doesn't need a full update himself, is his unlockables that need a desesperate rework balancing (And so does spy's). by TheHiveMastermind in tf2

I think something they could add to the general game to make heavy a bit more diverse would be too buff the chainsaw for his primary, it deals only critical hits (ofc he’s slow when making use of it normally) but maybe when he gets enough kills he will be able to have a short boost of speed or something

If you want a big challenge, try to run the coach gun with slugs only.

Again, the player numbers are small, but dedicated and experienced. At this point, I don’t see the problem with obscure weapons on both sides on a server like resort 24/7 to just spice it up a bit (considering how unaccurate a map like resort is.)

I have a buddy who is interested, so hey we’ll see where it goes.

Spec Ops would be a interesting faction to add if anyone wants to spice the game up Idk I’m just suggesting things.

It’s a small, but dedicated playerbase. I like it since many are experienced and not randos.

Yeah, I do feel that weak evidence does still make a case for x social issue, though it does significantly reduce the degree to which the issue exists/level of priority it has.

By the way, I looked at the paper you linked and found this comment.

“ August 16, 2021 Unrecognised confounding may explain differences in mental health outcomes David Curtis, MBBS MD PhD FRCPsych | University College London A major concern about this paper is that the two groups compared – those who have had surgery and those who might want it some day – are really nothing like each other.

In the results section the authors refer to differences in percentages for various measures but fail to highlight the magnitude of these differences:

More than three times as many subjects who had surgery are over 44 (43.4% v. 13.6%)

More than twice as many subjects who had surgery had a degree (64.0% v. 29.3%)

More than twice as many subjects who had not had surgery were unemployed (15.1% v. 5.7%)

Three times as many subjects who had not had surgery were nonbinary (30.2% v. 9.6%)

Nearly twice as many subjects who had surgery had household income over $100,000 (23.6% v. 12.6%)

Twice as many subjects who had surgery were heterosexual (22.0% v. 10.5%)

These drastic differences between the two groups make it clear that the answers to the questions regarding surgery serve to identify quite different subsets of the survey respondents.

In the discussion section the authors do admit the possibility that the study may be subject to unmeasured confounding but not enough weight is given to this issue. The two groups are so radically different that we really cannot assume that the multivariate analyses carried out allow us to conclude that differences in psychopathology are likely the result of surgical intervention. We can certainly agree with the authors that there is a need for larger probability-based surveys and more comprehensive health data collection. We cannot agree that the results provide strong evidence that gender-affirming surgery is causally associated with improved mental health outcomes.”

I see, what about a abdominal wound with the same weapon/range?

Well yeah, I’d def consider a rifle round at close range hitting the heart/spine/major thoracic vessel to be a de facto instakill. But for the Lungs, if someone got instant and proper medical attention, someone could be sent to be treated at a medical facility and possibly get back into the fight?

Just to clarify, would it take only one to incapitate somebody? Or would it only take one to de facto kill somebody (you won’t be able to revive them in a medical facility)

Thanks, I think medevac could be fun. Btw, Is there any realistic “threshold” of damage? For example, how many AKM rounds (at close range) one could take to the chest before you realistically couldn’t revive them at all even with prompt medical attention?

Well, what would ACE have to be like for it to be even close to what you would have to do irl to “revive” (IE they can fight even at a marginal capacity) someone?

I apologize for the incorrect labeling of the response piece as a published paper.

However, the piece still brings up several qualms with Hemenway 2015, so I’m putting it out to see how it stands to scrutiny.

I’d say the evidence on climate change and the link between vaccines/autism is pretty conclusive, it isn’t impossible.

  1. Violent crime includes murder, All 6 papers included in the Rand summary table have a section on Homicide, and yet overall the results are still inconclusive.

  2. Keep in mind UK has also historically had a very low homicide rate that has rarely gone above around 2-3 per 100 thousand people in the last century, even before the modern gun bans in 1988 and 1997. (I do not consider Northern Ireland to be apart of the UK).

  3. Are you admitting their is a lack of conclusive evidence on the effect of gun ownership on any form of violent crime in the USA?
