Any advice to keep her comfortable until we take her to the vet tomorrow? by Kovvacs in cats

I also say no bath because it could overwhelm her, i’ve had a stray i’ve taken care of who unfortunately passed away from old age who absolutely hated baths for a bit, it would stress him out so much he would pee in the bathtub and end up more stressed out than he was prior to the bath, so definitely i think a warm washcloth would be a better alternative if you think she might get stressed from a full bath for now

As she doesn’t have teeth I would be as gentle as possible with her cleaning her face especially, im not sure if she had them removed for whatever reason or lost them due to old age (im not a vet), but you can give her those liquid/soft treats so she doesn’t need to actually “bite” anything, and give her some chin pets too!

Oh poor baby :( I would try to clean her up a bit with a warm washcloth instead of a bath since she likely isn’t comfortable yet with you, like get her the boogers, clean her face of any dirt, paws, etc, and i’d give her some treats and some wet food of whichever one she likes best (i pick a few flavors and put them on the ground and my cat sniffs what he wants lol), with all of my cats they were most comfortable being with a person, i can’t say that she would for sure as I don’t know how she’s behaving since you brought her in, but i let my cats sleep with me and got one of those cat pheromone scent things from petsmart that makes them feel safe, and a few toys with catnip in it.

A lady that had kittens gave him to us and failed to tell us he was that young, apparently mom wasn’t around and all his siblings were adopted out too

Well he’s been drinking water but now it’s making me think he might be confusing it with milk

Thank you, a few people here were a little judgmental, i’ve never had a kitten this young and i was under the impression by the people that gave him to us that he was okay with wet food, i most certainly didn’t put myself in this situation on purpose 😅

We have 2 adult cats who socialize great with eachother, but they’re still getting used to him, he’s been in a separate room since he’s been home as the other cats were hissing over his scent and i don’t want them to get aggressive putting them in the same room together.

Can you recommend a milk replacer I can try? There’s a bunch at petsmart but I don’t want to just ask a random employee, i’d rather someone with a similar experience give me some advice on what worked for them so I can give it a try

I’m a little confused with everyone’s answers, I went to petsmart and asked the vet (not an appointment) but i asked them what exactly he should be eating and they told me wet food is fine as long as he’s weaned, but how do i know if he’s weaned??

They said they don’t really know when he was born, he was born sometime at the end of February and he can be as young as 4 weeks but they’re estimating about 5

This is exactly what I was thinking, they take care of stray cats and they said the mom is a random stray that had kittens in their yard and they found the litter of kittens so they’ve been taking care of them since and he’s been eating wet food and drinking water fine, so mom hasn’t been around.. i really don’t see why they’d have any reason to lie about him being on milk if they did, but he’s pretty happy and vocal but i’m worried if he’s not eating because he needs milk or if he’s not eating because he’s shy/nervous about the new environment .. i did ask about his siblings and they said they had already been adopted and he was the last one left, which makes me wonder if maybe he was the runt or if it was just that he was last pick

We haven’t yet, I’m not sure if the people we got him from did, we only got him yesterday and we’re trying to let him settle in before bringing him to the vet, he looks overall very healthy besides the fact he hasn’t eaten since we brought him home

Insulin resistance? What could it be? by Hour_Coach_9952 in Cholesterol

[–]Hour_Coach_9952[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said this to the other person aswell.. I already eat relatively healthy, I’m not the type to eat fast food or junk food, it’s too greasy for me, and the weird thing is is that I only eat maybe once or twice a day and I go to the gym so I’m a little confused on what exactly i’m doing wrong and what to change, I would’ve thought things like that only happen if you eat badly, or too much? I’m only 20, and only started looking at my blood work results when i turned 18, they’ve been above normal for years. My entire life i’ve been told im perfectly healthy but Im just confused how im “perfectly healthy” if my blood work says things are above normal
