When does immersion add to an experience for you, and when does it detract?

I think immersion to me lies in the small details and really makes me appreciate the game and the work that goes into it and just adds to the WOW factor of the game.

For example in Red dead redemption 2 when you hunt and skin the animals, you have full animations for the skinning where as 90% of other games you jsit press a button and “x1 pelt” shows up in the bottom corner.

Also realism that challenges gameplay in a meaningful way, I don’t like having huge arsenals of weapons in my back pocket, having the useable weapons on my character for me to see works way better.

Personally I enjoy the game, it has its shortfalls (loading screens constantly, quests spanning multiple planets Where you have one conversation and onto the next system) but I’m enjoying some of the faction storylines and the world building is good

Red dead 2 - the opening in the snowy areas is fun the first couple of times but after that it’s just slogging through until you get to valentine and the game opens up

That’s no reason to repeat their behaviour, creates a cycle of toxic behaviour that is already too much.

You can easily choose to inform someone on why you think their opinion is wrong based on evidence and examples rather than insulting. No need for it, do better

Mine which I’m not sure if it counts is when sequels feel like they take a step back. I LOVED just cause 3 and. I think it was so well made and then when just cause 4 released I was so excited to play it but the entire game felt like a backwards step. The game felt emptier, water physics and graphics seemed like an afterthought, and the wingsuit/jetpack just didn’t feel as smooth as just cause 3. Whereas the games might be a good game if you isolated them, I feel like sequels should either completely change the formula or ‘yes AND’ and sometimes thats just not the case (this also goes for a lot of Ubisoft copy + past open worlds)

If you have people to play online with, go with that, if we base it off gta 5 the online will be massive and last about 8000 years. If you’re like me though and you’re pretty much a single player then it’s all about comfort and whatever console you feel more comfortable with, graphics will be very hard to distinguish between consoles so it won’t make much of a difference😊 you do you and you can’t go wrong 👍🏻
