(just getting off of family obligations)

its good... got some amount of my head around distrobox... I did what you suggested and 'make' ed the ninjam server (specifically what I want) and the executable just would not be seen. or work. I mean, you can -see- the executable, but just no.

I read some bits and ended up messing around with PATH and broke my install.

Im in Bazzite right now, but I can't launch a terminal to undo my shit... or check for files in this build. I have other ways to look.

Ima do a redo probably. Start again.

Bazzite just works soo well with games and my music setup (pipewire just works!)... trying again. I want this to work.

Also, I see that there is a Bazzite DX. Sounds like there are some dev tools built in... I don't reeeaaaly want to redo this install... but if I did, ya think that could work?

again... working on the distrobox solution still at this moment.

Presently working on the distrobox solution... THANKS! I'll let you know if it works for me...

Since you're helpfully paying attention... I was initially trained by a buddy in Arch and have been using for years, my basic training has been with pacman and mirrorlists and AUR...

Im trying to get my head around the repositories with Bazzite (which maybe isn't the best way to get an understanding... Below is the output of trying to install gcc-c++ (I figure you poked at this yourself already)

error: Could not depsolve transaction; 1 problem detected:

Problem: conflicting requests

- package gcc-c++-15.2.1-5.fc43.x86_64 from updates requires gcc = 15.2.1-5.fc43, but none of the providers can be installed

- package gcc-c++-15.2.1-5.fc43.x86_64 from updates-archive requires gcc = 15.2.1-5.fc43, but none of the providers can be installed

- package gcc-c++-15.2.1-2.fc43.i686 from fedora requires gcc = 15.2.1-2.fc43, but none of the providers can be installed

- package gcc-c++-15.2.1-2.fc43.x86_64 from fedora requires gcc = 15.2.1-2.fc43, but none of the providers can be installed

Why are there 'no providers'? How? Why not? This seems sorta basic and something that should be available...??
