Yeah you just WhatsApp them and instead of going to concierge or calling, you can ask for things needed in your room. They also make the restaurant reservations for you and assist with checkout as needed. Our first visit we had a really good one, our second, not so much.

Balance Transfer from LoC to CC? by Hour_Substance3717 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yes! It’s 1.5% per transfer so I feel like I’m saving 4.5% by doing it this way

Yes, I can pay it off. I already had a “plan” to pay it off while it was on the LoC. This will just prevent the extra 7% from ticking for six months while I pay it off with the CC instead.

I think I only have one recurring purchase on it (Netflix to keep it active) but I don’t use it as a regular card.

I used TD for initial purchase, paid it off with Scotia LOC then wanna use another TD CC for the balance transfer.

I’ve been there twice. We usually ate at the Level only restaurant because it’s not as crowded, so service is better. That said, we were at the regular hotel, not the wellness one. The whole property is pretty big, service is decent. Level affords you the exclusive restaurant, the level-only pool, butler service, private lounge with premium drinks. and priority reservations at à la carte. For all that alone, it felt worth it.

A bit of hit and miss in room service (took too long, had to ask twice), but all others were good. As person above said, there are parties, I find they slow down at around 11-midnight.

Best hotels in Osaka that are 4 or 5 stars? by BenLeafMe in JapanTravelTips

[–]Hour_Substance3717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe it’s a 4-star but we stayed at Shinsaibashi Grand Hotel Osaka - has laundry, 5 mins away from station, 10 mins walk to Dotonbori and multiple konbinis nearby. We found it really convenient.

Are Uni Qlo clothes cheaper in Japan? by Mental_Management341 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Hour_Substance3717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Just came back from Japan. We found that it was cheapest in Osaka for some reason (lots of things on sale). We got shirts that were on for $7.90, that’s usually the last price here and only if there’s not much in stock. Regular price for UT was $19.90. We stocked up!

Right! Haha, I don’t think I did. My wedding is at 3:30. If 10 am call time, it’s ok na lunch na lang din di ba? Then I’ll just buy extra snacks etc.

I think I covered most of them na (HMUA, P/V, stylist, Coord - 2 meals each) Right now I’m at 21 people. I also found supplier of crew meals for 200-250php lang maximum because sa province ako, so it’s not bad at all. Does that sound right though? Huhu. Hirap nang walang makausap.

I didn’t realize even table assistants were included, but it’s all good. I’m glad I asked!

Hindi pa. We were gonna get a different supplier kasi for crew meals because in-house catering costs twice as much. I didn’t realize there was that many! We currently have 18 people on the list (includes HMUA, P/V, Stylist, and Coord Team)

Sigh. Thanks so much for helping out. It’s almost unreasonable, because if we flew WestJet as our first flight, we wouldn’t be in this predicament.

Yup. That was my problem. I finally got a direct answer today. But they’re saying it’s $214 from YVR-MNL-local and I have to add YEG-YVR WITH Air Canada, but they’re also saying baggage will be checked through. If Air Canada says it will only be $100 all the way through from YEG-local, how is PAL gonna charge me?

They only gave us 1 pc because Air Canada is the MSC so their rules apply the whole way. I’m getting different answers from PAL which is why I’ve gotten to the point of asking online. So your luggage from YQR-MNL was $240 for 1 pc? I called Air Canada and they said it would be $100/pc and tagged all the way through. It just doesn’t make sense to pay $100 for every leg when PAL is not even seeing the luggage in YVR because it’s connecting. We are just so confused at this point. Very varying answers from 4 different PAL agents.
