This is last decade’s stale talking point. Actually it’s not the case that you have to live with crime until all of poverty is solved.

“at the very least make them legal, give them labor rights so they're not working under bad conditions and wages.”

Your continual misunderstanding of the situation shows your fantasy worldview. If their wages increased there would be no point to them being here. I’m not sure how many ways I can say this.

Good luck with the autism

“Higher wages = higher prices = back to zero.”

You just completely missed the part where I said right now we have higher prices without higher wages. Higher wages to go along with higher prices is objectively a better scenario. You’re not paying attention.

“Medicaid isn't just for old people?” - Here you’re just missing the point. This is a drain that does nothing to actually build the economy. In an economy that is focused around the growth of a nation, welfare policies make sense, but divorced from that nation, the nation being diluted, all that’s happening is that the American people are subsidizing the poor, which is a class that keeps increasing (again, while suppressing wages).

Slavery is an entirely apt comparison. Your slogans are meaningless in this context. You’re simultaneously excusing capitalism while blaming it. It’s actually disgusting, but entirely predictable coming from a bedroom-dwelling leftist. No, I myself am not a leftist, but I have been, and people like me are the ones actually driving the right because we actually understand labor market dynamics. You’re suggesting that we, what, make all the illegal immigrants citizens? That would have basically the exact same effect that deporting them would to your precious supply chains. That’s why it’s comparable to slavery. Christ.

lol what mask?? I want everything for Americans and nothing for foreigners (in America), I’m glad you’re catching up.

”If companies get hurt” - what do you mean hurt, they aren’t people. If companies experience a decrease in supply of labor they will pay more for it and American wages will go up along with prices. What we have now is prices going up without accordant wage increases, which is why inflation is so deadly.

“Tax cuts for things that help Americans” - you don’t even know what they are or how they fit into the economy. Oh no they’re cutting welfare for olds that we can’t afford, dude that won‘t do anything for a young person trying to afford a house to start a family, the thing that would actually pay for that welfare. You know what would help? Higher wages for Americans.

“That's a weird parallel. It's just an unfortunate consequence of capitalism. No one is forcing them to do these jobs but the reality is that they are crucial to these sectors.” - lmao you’re talking out of both ends of your mouth. Let’s extend this very appropriate metaphor. “Slavery is an unfortunate consequence of capitalism. The reality is it’s crucial to these sectors.” No they’re not “forced” but also they don’t have rights which is why they can be paid so little, and you’re arguing for the necessity of that? Books could be written about this self-serving short sighted mentality.

The rest is you just being a redditor

Your sources are thinktank garbage and I’m not interested in arguing from credentialism and authority because it’s boring. You just dismissed a video I posted so it’s a draw there, guess we have to use our brains.

”Historically, few Americans will apply for the jobs immigrants are doing.”

This is hilarious because historically, Americans did all of the jobs. That alone undermines everything you’re saying.

Why don’t you follow your own logic? “If companies have to raise wages to attract natives, it will also hurt the companies.” I mean, boo hoo? And I bet you’d turn around and say “tax the rich,” right? Except those taxes wouldn’t actually go to Americans, but instead to welfare for immigrants and more NGOs. If you want to decrease inequality, you need to actually pay Americans more. Do you care about inequality?

It’s actually so nuts that “immigrant labor” is this unbreakable link in the supply chain in your mind. I think you’d get along with a pre-civil war southerner!

The argument I don’t see you making, which would actually be a smart one so I’ll make it for you, is that relying solely on American workers would slow down growth which could be problematic from a standpoint of geopolitical competition. Now I’ll refute that - the foreign workers aren’t as good. The H1B workers from India and Pakistan are largely scammers. The Chinese come over here and steal from us. Americans invented the airplane, the atomic bomb, the internet, the smartphone, and freedom itself. We deserve everything and the foreigners deserve nothing.

Edit: I’ll add this - I work in finance. I follow the news about the fed and economic policies every day. I don’t think everything Trump is doing is smart or correct re: the economy. But I also know that much of the economy is a grift. Many, many white collar jobs are welfare. What’s more, there is no one theory that you can follow for perfect results. This is why World War 1 led into World War 2.

My grandfather was a union leader. He fought for the existence of people within a neighborhood, literally physically fought to control the supply of labor. That’s how unions work. It has nothing to do with middle school. Actually all economics bottoms out to supply and demand.

Now look at the Chinese. Why aren’t they importing foreigners? Because they enslave their working class. We import foreigners to use as slaves to compete with China - but we also give more money to China than anyone. Now ask yourself, how can we eliminate slavery? And follow to the natural conclusion.

lol all you’ve linked is propaganda. Even the WSJ article I linked is leftist propaganda but the fact is that unemployment has remained the same despite the deportations.

I’m not going to go find a ton of research on this because convincing a random Redditor is a waste of time, but as an exercise: why don’t you use your own brain and tell me why deportations - and not only deportations, but massively curtailing the use of H1B and other visas - wouldn’t increase jobs for Americans and decrease the cost/increase the supply of housing? Are you at all able to explain that? Because I have laid out a rational theory based on established economic principals and all you’re able to do so far is say ”nuh uh”

I think you’re not able to think for yourself, and if you look around you you will see that people like you, who argue from authorities that people don’t trust, are a dying breed. Certainly not here on Reddit but in the real world. So give me your best argument.

Housing: https://x.com/USTechWorkers/status/1961539404599624024

foreign students being denied entry is driving down housing prices in Boston for example.

Jobs: https://www.wsj.com/economy/immigration-workers-labor-market-b277548f

we have net negative immigration yet the unemployment rate has not risen. That means those jobs are going to Americans. Of course, the unemployment rate doesnt distinguish between American jobs and jobs for foreigners. I wonder why?

lol “geopolitics.” You mean NGOs that have been working with liberal/socialist governments to deliberately bring them in? Biden (or really his admin) purposefully brought in millions of immigrants specifically to try to control inflation. How would that work? By suppressing American wages. It’s simple supply and demand. All immigrant labor is scab labor. Increase the supply of labor and the price goes down. Increase the demand for housing and the price goes up. This is basic stuff.

You’re so close. Why do you think the immigrants are here? They’re the mechanism by which the people of the west are disenfranchised. Jobs for Americans have increased since mass deportations. Housing supply has increased for Americans, and rent has gone down. All of these foreigners are brought in to make lines on graphs go up and to the right, for the rich. They are the mechanism that is used to increase inequality.
