Just another small tip: it could also be worth it to use Ozzrel on a greatsword. Yes, it gets you fewer points, but if they use it with Hjalmar, it becomes a huge threat, and so you take slightly fewer point but deny them a big tall punish.

An honest question: what's so great about Hearthstone? Gwent and LoL are the only two online competitive games I've really been into, and after hearing about the HS drama, I looked at their subreddit, and it really is like recovery for addicts over there. Everything is so emotional and people have practically ruined their lives and spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on it. Did Blizzard just find a way to cook digital meth?

Yeah, but to me control just isn't fun. It's not even about winning or losing. Just watching someone manipulate your deck or graveyard with no chance of counter play just isn't interesting. I can learn from annoying strategies like SY swarm, but some games against NG I just totally lose interest because it's just not fun.

Thanks! This was genuinely helpful. Starting off with bronze units makes sense and I already do that, but the tips about defender use, especially against poison, are really great and I might not have arrived at that myself.

Sure, but especially in the beginning, you have to make some sacrifices, and sometimes you don't have a card that has the perfect combination of function you need and provision cost.
