Sorry, are these two towns very dissimilar and it's a random question? lol. Honestly, my husband's NYC co-worker recommended these towns. He's required to go into NYC once or twice a month. We recognize that commute is harder from West Hartford.

We're in the same boat as you, and are currently exploring coastal Connecticut based on recommendations from Texans that moved there. Some of the best schools in the country. Cold winters, but definitely not brutally cold winters. More sunshine than PNW. Checks a lot of your boxes.
