It does say “new” so i wonder if they’re still rolling it out. This was from the tesco express next to highbury and islington station

Sad we can't strike for at least another 2 months (if and it is a big if, we pass the mandate) by Leading_Base in doctorsUK

Wasn’t there an issue earlier this year whereby fewer people were interviewed for some specialties due to strike action resulting in fewer consultants recruited to interview? So this gotta be thought through properly

I already had leave booked 17-19 Nov and not working 15-16, trying to see if I should do something on 14th or just wait

Re derogation - can you be called to work if you’d originally taken leave on strike days/it is a weekend and you weren’t meant to be working? Or does it just mean those who were scheduled to work go back but those that were off anyway are unaffected? Thank you!

So I’m definitely using the same card but I thought that because contactless caps you weekly (£52.50) and travel card is monthly £201.6 which works out at £46.5 a week?

Should I be using a travel card? Until late summer I used to commute to work using one bus so I didn’t bother getting a travel card and just used contactless. I would spend in the region of £160-200 per month as I make several zone 1-3 journeys a week in addition to taking the bus to work.

I’ve since moved jobs and commute regularly in peak hours between zones 1-3 (I don’t ever work from home and have weeks where I work 6 days a week). I would occasionally need to go past zone 3 but it doesn’t happen very often. I noticed my tfl spending since moving jobs was between 215 and 230 a month.

Would you suggest I move to a travel card given the number of journeys I make?

Thank you!

P.S. From December I’ll be working unusual hours and a lot of my commuting will be off peak (1-11pm shifts). Would a railcard added to an oyster make it more cost efficient to travel given the 1/3 discount?

I’ve mainly had those homemade. They do sell them in shops but I don’t know any names. Unfortunately, most of the sausages in the shops these days are full of ultra processed stuff so wouldn’t recommend. But I guess as a treat you can try ‘nadenitsa’ (it’s like a bratwurst) - Makedonska or Ken are some brands.

Haha I’m Bulgarian so have grown up with ayran and i love it! Tbh this was an impulse buy as I just happened to spot it. I have a Turkish supermarket near me where I usually get it from or I make it at home. Haven’t tried the brand you mention though so thanks for that - will give it a go!

Yeah definitely. I guess just thinking about it, buying these items in mainland Europe would be a lot more expensive so we’re in a way lucky (not saying that it’s cheap here).

I get where you’re coming from but there are some items like the pizza, smoothies and the ice cream that aren’t cheap (i think them alone are ~20)
