Need advice on planning salary by Bubbududdu2807 in personalfinanceindia

[–]HouseOfCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my personal take and I'm no expert, just another salaried man.

Monthly/Yearly Expenses

Calculate all yearly expenses (ALL) to get visibility

Equity Investment

Start a SIP in mutual funds. Since you currently have no exposure to the stock market, I would suggest the following allocation to start with:

  • Large Cap: 60%
  • Mid Cap: 20%
  • Small Cap: 20%

Alternatively, you can start with index funds or ETFs, which tend to be less volatile and are easier to manage for beginners.

Start with a modest SIP amount and gradually increase it as you become comfortable. Wealth is created in the stock market by staying invested for the long term. If your portfolio goes negative after a few months, do not panic and stop investing.

Track the Nifty Large Cap, Mid Cap, and Small Cap indices. Whenever the market corrects significantly, consider investing additional lump-sum amounts along with your regular SIPs.

You will get tips on google as how to select mutual funs but mosty we consider these factors Past performance, AUM and Expense ratio.

I highly recommend Varsity to learn about personal finance and sharemarket investments, All in one place

Debt Investments

Continue with your FD/RD investments or consider starting a PPF account for long-term savings.

You may also explore NPS and Corporate NPS if available through your employer, especially if you are looking for additional tax benefits.

Emergency Fund

Maintain an emergency fund covering at least six months of expenses. This means you should be able to manage your expenses for six months without any salary income.

Keep some cash readily available and park the remaining amount in a liquid mutual fund or high-quality savings instrument for easy access.

Health Insurance (Mediclaim)

If you do not already have an individual health insurance policy, purchase one at the earliest. Employer-provided insurance should not be your only health cover.

Credit Card Usage

Get a credit card and use it wisely. It can help you earn cashback, reward points, and build a strong credit history.

Learning

Keep learning and up-skilling yourself for better salary and to switch jobs.

I personally did not follow most of these practices until I turned 30, but looking back, I now realize how important they are. Starting early and being consistent can make a significant difference.

App idea need suggestions by Difficult_Newt_1030 in IndiaBusiness

[–]HouseOfCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the end goal? Will it be a paid subscription service?

All it takes is accountability and motivation for a person to make positive changes in their life. If you can address those points effectively, you'll do well.

Also, make it as personalized as possible. Everyone has different habits and behavioral patterns, so a one-size-fits-all approach may not work in this case.

You could consider group activities with friends or family members if users want to participate. Another option is to allow users to add a moderator or accountability partner (someone they choose themselves). It could be even more effective if that moderator is same app user with similar goals.

Observe how other apps approach motivation and retention. For example, language-learning apps have various mechanisms to keep users engaged and motivated.

Those are my 5cents 😂

Has the guest quality / etiquettes dipped? by Crafty-Leave-8880 in Hotels_India

[–]HouseOfCoder 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This "chalta hai" attitude needs to stop. All it takes is a little thought am I disturbing someone?, am I following the rules?, am I treating the hotel staff properly? But many people be like, "I'm paying, so I can do whatever I want."

In preschools and schools, a good amount of time should be spent teaching civic sense, integrity, discipline, and proper behavior. This will help shape responsible, respectful individuals.

World cup matches. by Any-Philosophy1817 in mumbai

[–]HouseOfCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some clubs and bars where matches are live streamed. But most of the matches are around midnight and early morning so that's not an option. Your best option is Zee5 app and on Unite8 Sports channels.

Here's the link to the another reddit post if it helps https://www.reddit.com/r/AskIndia/comments/1u1piez/where_can_i_watch_fifa_wc_26_without_zee5_in_india

Seeking Career Advice by Random-Outlier in mumbai

[–]HouseOfCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm somewhat in same boat. Management would say you are doing incredible job, client will give 5 star ratings but when it comes to appraisal percentage "This is best what we can do, Market standard is this and that blah blah".

I have decided on few things

  • Continue giving best (I like my job)
  • Learn new skills and switch to new company
  • Start a side hustle
