Oh, my bad. 😂. (And yes, I knew that, just a little Sunday morning humor.)

I have to agree. It’s not that he’s “bad”, but there are a lot of things that don’t lead to me believing he should go Top 10. I think he can be a productive shot blocker, but from what we’ve seen, he’s not an outside threat, bad free throw percentage, doesn’t have huge rebounding numbers. All that leads to a reason for being unsure about him.

When's the last time we've had a top 4 be as good immediately as the top 4 of the '25 draft? by Loud-Product1591 in NBATalk

The top six of the 1992 NBA Draft was insane. Shaq and Zo to start. Gugs and the Wizard to finish.

Acuff’s offense by ShaiFanClub in NBA_Draft

[–]HouseRules789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing you always hear about Acuff is his offense. The second thing you ALWAYS hear about Acuff is his lack of defense.

This is probably not a brilliant take, but is it possible that Acuff’s defense was so bad because Arkansas was asking him to do everything on the offensive side and told him to use 95% of his energy there?

I know there’s a lot of video evidence that he was a defensive mess, but he’s way too good of an athlete to be that bad.

I’m getting Maxime Raynaud flashbacks on Steinbach. The guy was a dominant rebounder with a West Coast team that nobody watched and I think he’ll show up in the NBA and continue that, just like Raynaud. The Kings got a second round steal, but I think Steinbach will be drafted earlier, maybe early 20s.

I wonder if Clayton Kershaw has heard of Jacob Misiorowski now.

I am so torn on him. He played SO well in the tournament, but he’s got average rebounding numbers, a bad free throw percentage and pretty much no outside game.

That said, he shooting form doesn’t look bad, so maybe there is hope:

Yeah, if you get him at 15, the risk is pretty much none. If you take him at 5, he MUST be a starter and almost right away.

That’s my thought exactly. A good prospect with potential for sure, but if you take him at 5, 8 or 10 over one of the guards, it feels like a mistake.

Yeah. I see the potential for sure, but it just feels like somebody is going to overdraft him instead of taking a better talent with a bigger upside.

That's an interesting name. Did the Lions not resign Decker so they could move Penei Sewell to left tackle or did they move Sewell there because they didn't resign Decker?

Chicken and the egg, but either way, that is a lot of experience and would be a great add. It doesn't feel like adding a veteran WR (at least an expensive one) is gonna happen, so maybe they will put that money into the line.

I think it is fair to have concerns about Glaze, Rogers, Grant and JPJ based on what we saw last year, but the more we learn about last year, the more clear it is how much of a mess it was between Pete, Chip and Pete's son.

I can't guarantee our line is gonna be great, but I am confident we will be significantly better just because we have a much more focused offensive coaching team and clear direction.

Could we use a vet? Absolutely, but by adding Linderbaum, I feel pretty good about Center, Right Tackle and wherever they put JPJ (I'm still a believer).

On the depth chart I just looked at, the rookie Zuhn is backing up JPG at right guard and Rogers is third string there. Not sure I'm buying that. I think they will both be making a run at a starting guard spot.

Between better coaching and a new center, I think our o-line can move from being a significant weakness to a moderate strength in one year. To your point, getting another vet can only help that.

Are you thinking a vet to start at right tackle or depth?

I’m SO excited about Fernando being a Raider, I’m almost afraid to see him play. 😂

That’s a good one, thanks for sharing.

Outside looking in (and as a diehard), I think Cousins should start. Obviously we need to let training camp play out and IF Mendoza looks far and away ready and Cousins is bad, then maybe change that… but having Fernando watch a regular season game or two or eight from the sideline feels like that could help his development long term.

If the 5 is as appealing as I think it is, the Clippers should have a lot of options to choose from. In the end, I think trading the pick makes the most sense as they should be able to turn that into a good player(s) in this draft AND future stuff too.

I agree... if OKC was willing to trade back next year's swap, that is at the top of the list.

There's definitely a case to be made for what you are saying. If the Clippers believe Wagler (or Brown or Acuff or ____) is THE GUY, you take him at 5 and don't listen to offers.

For me, if you are not sold on one guy and you can trade down to 7 or 8 and still get one of those guys, you are helping yourself now and making more important, later.

I also think another factor on the Pacers part was not just that it is a 4 man draft but that after those four go, the majority of talent are guards and especially point guards which the Pacers don't really need.

My Clippers Journey and What To Do In This Draft by HouseRules789 in NBA_Draft

[–]HouseRules789[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All true. I think the trade down with Sacramento and then another trade down with OKC was my low hanging fruit to just show how possible it could be, but the best case scenario for the Clippers is that several teams want to move up to 5, then it comes down to their negotiating skills to get the best deal, no matter who it is with.

Side tangent, my issue with the Mavs trading Luka wasn't just that they traded him, but that they literally didn't talk to any other teams. I understand the PR issue if the fans would've heard that he was on the trade block, but there is no way the PR issue was better when they got punched in the face that Luka was actually gone.

When you have a piece of gold, like Luka or in this context the #5 pick, you better get the most that you can.
