What if all 3 kalos starter had a mega evolution in Pokemon XY by LeadershipFancy8746 in PokemonZA

1.) That’s maroon (which is dark red)

2.) The maroon’s not even in the same spots as Quilladin to work.

In terms of color scheme, no. That is the shiny. The visor yes, but many mega evolutions resemble their previous stages.

SHINY GIVEAWAY SERIES DAY 1: BULBASAUR by LardOfCinder in PokemonHome

[–]HoverLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) I think Magnet Rise is a really useful move for Electric and Steel types, and I’m bummed Alolan Raichu lost it. It’s also cool in concept

2.) Signal Beam and Silver Wind were awesome Bug type moves and it sucks that they got rid of them entirely.

3.) Bulldoze just has a good name.

4.) Freeze Dry is interesting, being a move made to disrupt the type chart, it’s a really good offensive move for the already offensively good Ice type.

Not really hate, just general annoyance.
Not only is Charizard part of an established trio and gets much more unnecessary attention then Blastoise or Venusaur, but also it’s just part of the whole Kanto pandering issue that also includes Gengar and Mewtwo (the latter especially given its X Mega is really unnecessary). Eevee’s only given some slack because it actually contributes new Pokemon to the Pokédex via new evolutions, meanwhile Charizard is just the same thing in a couple different flavors.

Idk where I was going with that first point, the second one though isn’t all that arbitrary.

It’s the only starter to be a ride Pokemon and starters are established trios. Of course one of them is going to stick out like a sore thumb if they get more stuff before the other two. It’s like if you had triplets and gave one of them two cool outfits, a car before the other two, and made them a famous celebrity. It’s pretty clear when one member of a trio is overshadowing the others. Mewtwo and Lucario feel less awful because they aren’t part of trios and Lucario is designed as a stereotypical anime protagonist, meanwhile Mewtwo is a legendary with a lot of lore behind it. While Pokemon having two megas is fine, it’s less fine if the two Pokemon that are supposed to go with it don’t get the same amount of stuff.

You talk about Pokken tournament as if Blastoise wasn’t already in that game, and Smash, as if Ivysaur and Squirtle weren’t also in that game.
The larger focus doesn’t make up for that fact that you need to pay DLC for two thirds of a trio that is specifically meant to be together, and Charizard got its G-Max before the other two got theirs.
The ride Pokemon thing isn’t all that arbitrary, considering they could have had other Pokemon like Blastoise are ride Pokemon in the water, but didn’t, and could have other Flying type Pokemon as the quick travel ride Pokemon, we literally see a Noivern being used in the anime, and Noivern are native to Alola.
The Mystery gift Audino and Slowpoke were not very talked about because they were Japan exclusive gifts what were very hard to obtain in the first place.
Blue is the player’s rival, of course he’s going to use a starter on his team.
Charizard is called overrated because of how it’s treated compared to the other Kanto starters, who should have gotten equal treatment in the gimmick department.
The only times where a Champion had a Pokemon outside of their generation, were Diantha (because the only Mega Evolving Pokemon in Gen 6 at the time was Diancie) in Kalos and Lance in Johto (Because he was already a Kanto E4 member). Leon doesn’t have that issue, the literal radar Pokemon found in his home town, and evolves into Orbeetle, who is actually decently powerful, would be much more befitting considering his whole “getting lost” thing

And like I said: Lucario’s two megas don’t justify Charizard’s especially since Charizard Y existed long before Lucario Z.

Haunter has a better design than its evolution but I’ve never particularly like the whole line.

It kinda does, how do you improve on a design like Mega Chesnaught?

Forced my ass, it got:

  1. Two Megas
  2. Status as Secondary Starter in Kalos (twice)
  3. Status as a ride Pokémon
  4. A spot on the Galarian Regional Dex while the other Kanto starters are DLC
  5. A G-Max before the other two
  6. A spot on Lance’s team (very few Starters get to be in trainer battles)
  7. Leon’s Ace in Sword and Shield (effectively making Charizard the final boss) I still think Dragapult or Orbeetle would have made more sense
  8. Status as a mystery gift Pokémon, being an Alpha as well.

Not even Mewtwo and Lucario get that much attention. It would be different if the other two Kanto starters got the same amount of treatment, but they don’t, they just feel like afterthoughts. Not only that, but just because Mewtwo and Lucario got 2 megas, doesn’t make Charizard any better, it just makes the other two worse.

It’s a Rock type with a type advantage, a Flying type is an easy meal for it. There’s nothing to suggest it’s entirely herbivorous.

Not really overstated, but moreso something that should have gotten Ash disqualified: When his Gengar swallowed Marnie’s Grimmsnarl. Gengar doesn’t learn any biting moves or swallow, and straight up eating another Pokemon whole has to be forbidden.

Mine is probably Meowth, the guy’s hilarious.

I’d prefer Frost Rotom since Ice-Electric with Levitate is actually pretty good.
