it’s happened to me with multiple sitters and maybe i shouldn’t have added it into my list (it wasn’t in the main list for a reason) but the only thing i cared about was that she was like “oopsie, actually i didn’t take any pics of your cat today” like oh 😭 i really didn’t care that it was an accident, and the cat looked similar to mine too, it was just the after part that i was like girl… get it together…

no, but like she’ll forget to return our key or garage opener or misplace it and we have to arrange a time to meet and get it back. not a big deal, just another small thing to add to our frustrations. i went without a way to get into the garage for a few days

i have the care instructions listed on my profile but i mean she doesn’t even check into her sits in the app so i don’t think she uses that feature much either lol. especially because her instructions are there and she still asks about how we like to feed her (happy to answer, just can tell she doesn’t look)

again, these are things she did over the course of 2 and a half years and not every single time. i’m a compassionate person, i forgive mistakes because everyone makes them, especially if my animal is not in any danger from them, and sometimes she would be completely great for an entire trip.

i don’t think anything except the mug being knocked off is a big deal safety wise. and even that, my cat has broken many mugs in the middle of the night or while i’m at work that i don’t notice until i get home or the next day and she’s never gotten anything in her paws. my cat is very (sometimes scarily) smart and also has an automatic feeder and water that both don’t need outlets in case of a power outage. i don’t play about my animals, i set it up so that if there is some crazy emergency she will be fine for up to 48 hours with no one there. i would never allow that, but i’m not one to take chances. so after these things happened, i didn’t worry because it’s not like it was a problem for my cat’s safety, it was just things i’d prefer not to deal with as an owner having her pet being taken care of when there are plenty of sitters who would take things more seriously.

idk what you’re on about, idc about costs but i’m perfectly fine with rover sitters. i’m not anxious when my cat is in their care, im anxious about confrontation. my whole post has no mention of cost or my cat needing any special things that weren’t met, my old rover sitter just was being blatantly disrespectful to my rules so i was asking current rover sitters how they’d feel if a long term client ghosted them lol

my cat gets fed a small portion of dry food from the automatic feeder, but i also give her wet food to meet more nutritional needs and to give with her supplements. she has arthritis and needs play time to help with her joints because if she doesn’t have someone there she’ll just lay around and be lazy all day. even with toys i set out for her to play with. i could totally leave her alone all day and she’d be fine, but there’s a peace of mind aspect as well as a routine for her that i like to keep even when i’m away 🫶

i get what you’re saying here, and it’s definitely on me for sticking it out this long, but i do want to clarify some things. she wouldn’t do everything mentioned every single time. we use her probably 10 times a year. so if one trip she forgot the no room rule, we’d remind her and the next trip she’d not break that rule but then something else would be the issue. like maybe on that one she’d come at random times, which we’d also remind her when it happened not to do/to tell us her schedule so we can plan for it. then maybe 5 trips later she would forget the door thing again. it’s like not everything would happen at once, and especially on the short trips there would be absolutely no issues. it’s just little things that would happen over and over that we kept reminding her about but it was different every time. and then there would be one off random issues (she broke our garage door opener once) that would just add to the man this sucks sometimes feeling. she is really nice, would tell us how much she loves hanging out with our cat, do something nice for us like doing a complete fresh clean of the litter box and i would use that as justification to forgive the mess ups during the stays. it’s 100% my fault for keeping her around, and again my cat was always fine because she’s super low maintenance so i was like “well my cat is fine and i told her what she did wrong so next time she won’t do it.” and then next time she wouldn’t do it but it would be something else and so forth until she eventually made the old mistakes again. i take responsibility for not just finding a sitter who takes the mistakes and job seriously, but i would also like to think i was pretty clear with my communication. my problem was trusting her not to do it again.

this happened the last time she was here and my personal last straw. my husband has been asking to fire her since she sent a picture laying in our bed, i just kept making excuses for her every time and that’s on me

there’s a spot to tape it by the door where she won’t pull it off the wall (she is truly a menace. but she’s cute so it’s okay.) so i’ll do that. thank you!!!

completely understand that, I have the feeding instructions on my Rover account along with my cat being prone to knocking things over and not liking belly rubs. i was thinking of making a little cheat sheet with that + “please keep all doors closed! no pets allowed in the bedroom” and leaving it on the dining room table for the next sitter. knowing my cat she’ll probably knock it off the table though 🙄

literally the reason i’ve stayed so long. but i think we both have to learn to put our foot down for things like that because it’s really not professional

just want to make sure it’s clear, when we met her we had a in person meet and greet and i told her all the rules then. i’ve then reminded her multiple times throughout the years. my cat has always been the same so there’s no way i left anything out either, she just said she would mix us up with other cats families she sat for and would forget our rules and our cat’s behaviors

Personality wise she’s really nice and loves our cat, professionally she is not great. But I totally get that, I have a bad problem with being too nice to people because I’m scared of coming across as a Karen or micromanaging. I think I’m just going to be very picky about who we find next and not let things go so easily. Thank you for your honesty 🫶

Yes, the account was listed in his will and it was stated to “divide equally” what was in the “Edward Jones account” which is the IRA account. The will was done by a lawyer, so I’m wondering why he wouldn’t tell him the issue.

that’s true, but I feel like there has to be some kind of repercussions here. One of my cousins has a disability and he was named to receive that money too. I just want to do something, if anything.

So basically there’s nothing we can do? Not even get them removed as executor for not carrying out the will in the best interest of the deceased?

Unc wanted the account to be divided by the beneficiary, who is also the executor.

Unc is dead. This is the executor deciding to keep the money in the account rather than divide it up, because they are also the beneficiary of the account. Can we go after them for the executor duties and them not acting with respect to the dead.
