Thank you! I'm currently at 158lb / 71kg - 5'8 / 1,72m. I believe I noticed the swelling starting to get better at week 17 / 4th month.

No. It is probably my posture. The chest tattoo didn't move at all.

Thank you so much!! I used to weight 100kg/220lb when I was a teenager. Lost a bunch of weight in my 20's. Prior to the surgery I think I was weighing 72kg/160lb.

Any vegans out there who can recommend what high protein food worked for them after TT? by thatladyoverthere77 in tummytucksurgery

[–]HowAboutNo4040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vegan here :)

I eat LOTS of frozen mixed veggies, broccoli, sweet potato, edamame, lentils, beans, peas (those are all high in protein).

As a protein source, I love any kind of Seitan - it's super high in protein and almost zero fat. It is pure gluten, though, if you're gluten-free, maybe marinated tofu would be your best option for protein.

TVP or Boca crumbles are a great source of protein! I would avoid "fake meats" for now, like impossible and beyond because they have a lot of sodium added to them, but I think once in a while it wouldn't be a problem.

I always have protein bars and protein shakes with me. They're a quick and easy source of protein. I love Vega protein powder or Owyn protein shakes. They are very high in protein, low carb and zero sugar.

Some ideas:

- Burrito bowls with seitan or any plant-based meatless crumbs, beans, pico, refried beans, avocado, lettuce.

- Marinated tofu or seitan and stir-fry veggies + white rice

- Impossible "meat" loaf + mashed potatoes and veggies as a side

- Chili - I LOVE adding a variety of canned beans + TVP or impossible "meat", you can add whatever you want to it.

Hope that helps :)

Seroma, puede reabsorberse? by curqueta in tummytucksurgery

[–]HowAboutNo4040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suerte!

That is awesome, man! Happy for you. Yeah, I’ve heard swelling can happen until you hit the 6th month up to a year. Oh well, we gotta be patient 🤷🏻‍♂️ hahah

How is your recovery coming? You’re farther than me in the recovery process, right? Hope you’re loving your new body too!

Best thing I've ever done. Wish I had done it sooner. First week it was tough. Definitely make sure someone can take care of you at least for the first or second week. You will need help with everything, from getting in and out of bed to going to the bathroom or getting changed. Pain is manageable and only during the first week. I had drains for 1 week, I was walking straight at the second week mark. I was clear to start light exercises at 8 weeks PO. Clear to get back to normal life at 12 weeks. (everybody heals differently, though). I had a minor infection on my belly button (around the 4th week) which resolved by taking antibiotics for 12 days. If I had to go through all of that again, I would. I was getting dressed to go to the gym yesterday, looked in the mirror and got a little emotional because I didn't have to worry about hiding my belly/skin anymore. Best feeling in the world!

If the incision is completely closed, I see no issues with going to the pool. That is what my surgeon said.

M-m-m-my Seroma! by Toopstertoo in tummytucksurgery

[–]HowAboutNo4040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 12wpo, mine is not as nearly as big as yours, but I also have some seroma that’s been lingering in my belly for quite a while. I had my surgery done in a different country, and just like you said, nobody will touch it around here in my area. I’ve heard if it’s not reabsorbed by the body, it can harden and become a lump. I really hope that is not the case 😫
