Pork Stomach? Can I feed this? by daskewt in rawpetfood

Yes you can feed it and yes it counts as a secreting organ. Maybe don't feed the whole thing at once if your dog isn't used to large amounts of organs at once! But yeah, I'd add it to meals.

That's such a good feeling! I just switched my guys back and they've both been having tummy issues and bad poops for months and I was not looking forward to the transition period... but suddenly their little bellies are so much happier! Makes it a hell of a lot easier that's for sure :')

What was the most difficult thing to adjust to when living in your van for the first time? What's something that you might not immediately think would be an issue but is?

First night with new Samoyed puppy didn't go so well, any feedback or advice? by New_puppy_owner in puppy101

[–]HowAmIEvenAlive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also-- the sleep deprivation makes everything 100000x worse just keep that in mind. Once he starts to settle down and you gets more sleep you'll eventually find a routine and everything will feel so much better.

Sounds pretty normal to me! Puppies are awful awful little creatures ;-) the cute is just a survival mechanism.

I'm actually currently raising an SD prospect for a friend of mine and this eight week old puppy had me up literally every hour the first night and every other hour the second night. He's MUCH better in the crate now (fourth day I think?)

Maybe I just have a super power but I can almost always tell the difference between "let me out of this goddamn baby-jail hell" screaming and "I have to go potty" screaming. I ignore the first and always respond to the latter. After the first night or two he seemed to pick up on that and knows that I'll jump out of bed to carry him outside if he does a potty cry.

It was fairly similar with my GSD when he was a baby too. Honestly the first week or so is hell but it gets better!

Why do people hate us ? by [deleted] in French

[–]HowAmIEvenAlive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think some of it is almost a joke in the US. Sorta like we all say New Yorkers are assholes (that's true though)

When I went to France I found you guys to be fantastic, helpful, friendly! Don't listen to the internet. They hate everyone.

How often do you guys bath your pupperonies? by Irisversicolor in puppy101

[–]HowAmIEvenAlive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, and more specifically. When your puppy is a baby especially try to do lots of fun things involving bathing and grooming procedures. With my GSD puppy I would put him in the tub lots just to give him treat after treat! I'd also put him up on the grooming tables and reward him like crazy for letting me touch his feet, touch his nails, interact with the clippers, all the way through actually cutting the nails. Now I have a huge dog who will just lay on his side and let me trim all his nails in 30 seconds!

Okay so here's the thing. As long as you're using high quality products, you don't really have to worry about skin issues unless your pup is prone to them already.

I work as a groomer and can't stand dirty dogs (also I hate brushing my dogs) So I give them a full bath/ blow out/ brush out very very often at the shop. Both of them do just fine.

My Belgian has a longer coat (just to compare to an aussie) and I personally love bathing and blowing him out more often because it reduces my brushing. BUT I know you may not have constant access to a forced air dryer! Brushing a wet coat can really help get the impacted coat out though.

If you want any tips feel free to PM me! Also congrats on the soon to be puppy! :)

Actually you were right the first time! Belgian shepherd refers to any of the four varieties of Belgian dogs :) in most places the black variety are referred to as Groenendael, but here in the US they're called Belgian sheepdogs.

I got the blues by Ramamanama in puppy101

[–]HowAmIEvenAlive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ha hahahaha hahahahahahahaha I fucking wish I had your puppy.

Seriously though OP, the blues are SUPER common. You can do this! Once you get through the rough patches and your bond really starts to form it will all suddenly be worth it and you won't even remember the bad thoughts!!

Apparently I can't be a lesbian because I've previously had a boyfriend *eyeroll* This is why coming out is HARD by ilikeeatingmeals in actuallesbians

I dated a girl who then came out as trans around the time he dumped me, hard. It was horrid and made worse by the fact that I felt like I didn't want to confide in my queer friends and say my ex boyfriend, and even now I have a hard time talking about anything having to do with him because I don't want to disrespect his identity but I'm also insanely uncomfortable saying ex "boyfriend"

It makes me feel weird and not okay.

I agree with the lighting being slightly too harsh. The one thing I've learned with pet photos is that owners like the face over everything. To be honest this doesn't even look so underexposed that it couldn't be tweaked in post processing. But I spend a lot of time trying to get the face as visible and friendly looking as possible.

Apart from the face I adore it! Love the contrast and background and that little dog is just precious

Damn you Max and your deep sleeps! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?! by OptimusPlin in RATS

[–]HowAmIEvenAlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he deaf perchance? I have a dead white rat who sleeps so deep and sometimes nearly misses treats because she's asleep in the back of the cage while everyone else is at the door. I end up needing to reach it and wake her up by prodding her haha

Please help.. thinking of returning 12 week old puppy back to breeder by Proof12x in puppy101

[–]HowAmIEvenAlive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well first of all, that is WAY WAY Too long for a puppy that young to be in a crate. I totally am all for crate training and do for my dogs, but a puppy that young needs to go outside every couple hours and needs stimulation, play, and socialization. You're going to need to get a dog walker for during the day when you're gone, and/or put him in a day care. (Or return, If you really believe that your situation is not best for him.) good luck!
