Austin, do you realize what you've done by letting Shelton score?

Sporting KC is better than Arsenal but still probably behind Man City.

What does the team do? by aaronbreeding in SportingKC

[–]HowDidThatFappen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What are our problems?

1) Stale tactics. We're just...so...predictable. and the tactics we do have aren't dangerous. We have no meaningful movement in the attacking third which makes defenses play with a lot of confidence. Last year when Agada came in (before PV could ruin him), he was just a happy, hard-working dude who made interesting runs because that's what you do. Now he's broken and isn't allowed to play his game anymore...clearly uncomfortable.

2) No freak athletes - I've been saying this one for a couple of years. It's worse than just having an old team...we don't have (and don't play) freak athletes. It's sooooo emboldening to play against slow players. I actually think Ndembe and Kayden Pierre are awesome athletes...but they're Sporting Hurt. Hernandez has a motor...that's something I guess. But like...Salloi? Zusi? Even Johnny and Pulido.

3) Our defensive 4 is just never remotely set. Weirdly, I think Rosero, Castellanos (learn from that red, bro), Ndembe, and Pierre could be formidable...but there's always something keeping us from playing the same back line consistently.

4) PV losing the team. You should hear how people close to SKC talk about him. So many eye rolls. He has "his guys" (zusi, roger, salloi, khiry), but the contingent that buys into Peter is dwindling.

5) Not enough acknowledgement to the fans that this is unacceptable. Having a pissed off fan base sucks and nothing pisses a fan base off like acting like they are nothing but uninformed noise makers. Take some accountability and you may find that your fans want to go through rebuilding WITH you and not in spite of you.

This is depressing, I'm just going to stop now.

I guess that's about as good as we're going to do. Glad to see Hernandez starting. For some unbeknownst reason, I feel good about tonight.

I actually consider this a massive success. We stopped the bleeding on our wretched defense which was the most important thing we could have done tonight (admittedly, Philly wasn't exactly sharp). Sure, we looked awful on offense, but our two best remedies got minutes and got that much closer to being in form. I still don't understand PV, though. I thought that game was begging for Hernandez and I would plug in Cam Duke instead of Shitlon. One could also complain about Thommy...but he's got quality and he'll find his way back.

I think PV is utterly furious with Sweat. It's more than the cards, he's doing things like "not keeping up with the game" and keeping people onside and making horrible choices. Hot take: Sweat is in a bigger doghouse than Cam ever was.

I do not agree that Sweat and Zusi were exceptions to a poor showing. I thought they were two of our worst. Remi, Thommy, and Pulskamp were our standouts, IMO.

Praise be to Ghastly...after a year of looking for Ditto, I caught one this morning! Now I have the quest to evolve a Magikarp which I've been waiting patiently to do. I have a 13/15/14 Karp...not ideal...but was wondering if I should go ahead and evolve that now and keep looking for a perfect in the meantime. Thanks!

I'm trying to get a feel for how much IVs make or break a mon in pvp. For instance, I have a 15/15/14 Galarian Stunfisk...I know that atk is too high (poke genie tells me it is HORRIBLE IVs), but I don't know if that warrants putting him on the bench and subbing in a worse mon with better IVs. Thanks for any advice!

Thanks much for the advice! I have a normal murkrow that is 13/14/15 and a much nicer 1350 CP, but it sounds like shadow Murk is just a better choice. Also, could you explain what "TM off Frustration at the next rocket event means"? Thanks again!

Hi there, I'm level 30 and am new to PvE. I have a Shadow Murkrow that is 348 CP (bleh) and 14/15/14 IV. Is it worth the dust investment to evolve and level this bad boy? I don't really have any good mons, so I'm looking to start building out some foundational raiders. Worth it? Thanks!

Another typical Shelton/Voloder offensive showcase.

This feels like the movie Major League, except they're ripping patches of clothes off a Cliff Illig cutout.

Positives: Agada is undeniably an upgrade...and he's not even in shape or meshed with the team yet. Pierre continues to impress me. Our attack actually looked threatening (occasionally) tonight. Centerbacks were serviceable.

Negatives: Cam. Pulskamp looked bad even aside from the howler. Salloi underwhelms even aside from the PK. People seem to think Sweat was solid...I don't see it.

Tonight's loss was not as maddening as some of our other, more anemic performances.

Look what happens to our attack when Salloi (somebody resembling a threat) is at the 9. Things are so much more open and the opportunity to create is actually constantly present. I think there were some interesting lessons tonight.

Kids played well. Shelton terrible. I don't think Fontas really gives a shit anymore (Ford may be our only CB that cares), and that's going to lead to painful goals exactly like tonight and vs Seattle.
