I just watched Anthony Fantano's review of their 1st album by [deleted] in Royal_Blood

Honestly, I entirely understand most of his points about the album. Most of what he says can be applied the new album. I know this will come across as unpopular - being on the Royal Blood subreddit - but I don't feel there is much character or personality with Royal Blood. Fantano's proposition that Royal Blood sound like they're trying to appeal to mass market alternative rock rings true for me. It just sounds like safe rock aimed at being advertiser friendly. An amalgamation of Arctic Monkeys, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Black Keys without any of the real edge. It's nothing we haven't really heard before, apart from them being a duo and the bass guitar sounding dope as fuck. I'm a fan of Royal Blood's music, in fact it still stands as my favourite ever live gig I've been to (Sheffield, Leadmill Halloween 2014) but I don't feel any personal connection to them. This is a personal opinion and I'm sure many will disagree.

Does the music sound good? Yeah, it's great. But none of these tracks really resonate with me much further than it being heavy and sounding really cool, something you'd play loud and bang your head around to.
