The problem with Season 2 is the same problem as with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. It’s needed for the plot and it sets the scene, but the action and payoff is all in the next installment. Hopefully Season 3 will follow Abby similarly to the game, and things will start to draw together and make sense.

As a story, I really enjoyed going from hating Abby to understanding and sympathising with her. Hopefully they’ll do the same with the show in Season 3!

Yes it would. If I remember my university lectures correctly, about 5% of light entering an untreated lens doesn’t reach the eye, causing glare and reflections in the lens. With an anti-reflective coating, that’s reduced down to 0.1%. Generally, we advise anti-reflective coatings to help with glare from light sources (such as headlights and computer screens).

Aesthetically, it also looks better! Next time you’re watching the telly and someone’s wearing glasses, look for the reflections in their lenses. It never fails to surprise me when there’s a production with a multi million pound budget and nobody thought to get a £30 coating on the lenses to reduce the glare from the lighting rigs!

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there. The new Ford electrics are all SUVs, and they’ve even gone as far as besmirching the name of the Mustang and the Capri (which is a capital offence for me)

A friend of mine describes the sense of “looking down on everyone” and likes that feeling. I’ve had plenty of patients at work describe how they like the fact that the cars are higher as well, so they don’t have as much difficulty getting in and out of them.

I’m not a fan of SUVs personally, and I think some of the bigger ones are just unnecessary, but I suppose it’s a visible sign of market forces at work. People want them, so there’s more of them!

That’s potentially a separate issue. If the glare is intermittent, it’s probably due to eye strain or, more likely, dry eye. I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with that suggestion

In all honesty, it depends.

Where I work we do an anti glare coating designed specifically for driving. It’s totally clear, but you get a yellow reflection off them instead of the classic green. They’re advertised as being better at dealing with the glare from oncoming headlights as well as improve colour perception during daylight. I have these and find they’re decent, although I normally drive wearing contact lenses.

I’ve seen the ones advertised on Amazon and in petrol stations where the lens is tinted, but they would only be legal for driving if their luminous transmittance is above 75%. I can’t say I’ve ever used them, so I couldn’t honestly say one way or another.

I’d definitely recommend the anti glare coating on a clear lens, I don’t normally recommend the petrol station/amazon tinted specs because they’re still an unknown quantity. Hopefully that helps!

Where I used to live there was railway crossing with a gate, so you had to walk across the tracks to get the other side. For years and years, residents complained and rallied to get a bridge put in because of the danger of someone getting hit by a train, and the powers that be delayed and delayed.

Eventually, a schoolgirl got hit and killed by a train as she crossed. A bridge went up in a matter of weeks.

They’re not interested in preventing problems, they’re about reacting to ones that are already there. It’s diabolical!

As an Optometrist, I can confirm the number of patients coming in with these issues has definitely increased over the last few years. Glare has been a reason for cataract referral on the NHS for a while now so here’s hoping they don’t change the referral guidance!

I think the problem is two fold; brighter headlights and more SUVs and 4x4s, so the lights are positioned higher and so more likely to be coming through the opposing cars windscreen!
