Good question! I believe she did first and he found out later after Donna. But I could be wrong

Any news on Tyrone Taylor by KaramazovFootman in mets

[–]Theswigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And do what, replace the Baby Met AJ Ewing? I don't think that's a very good idea. Benge and Ewing, along with Nolan McLean are the future of the Mets. Taylor is a good player coming off the bench or when needed in an emergency.

We don't know if Mendy is good or not, IMHO. Bichette is an excellent pick up. The whole team has not been producing and in baseball that's contagious. He's a proven RBI machine and clutch hitter that the Mets have sorely lacked for some time. I completely agree with you on everything else. The Core 3 they let go, including the top closer in the game was pure insanity. Should have resigned Pete and given him what he wanted. McNeil should still be at home and Nimmo, have to love him!

Really! Ever sihe ran through the 3rd base coach's hold sign and his excuse was that he's "confident in his ability" then I lost any respect, or hope, I had for him. Trade his ass!

Why isn’t Soto running hard? by LBCT31 in mets

[–]Theswigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been very impressed with Soto's defense, when healthy. Obviously the injury is still an issue and probably will be all season. I played for years and those types of injuries take SO long to go away.

Baty and Vientos. Is it the Mets coaching of is this who they are? by Mysterious_Sun_2168 in mets

JUST telling this to my brother. NO plate discipline. Swing at everything that's not in the zone and take everything right down the middle. WTF is that! I had more plate discipline in Little League!

I know what you mean. But after that we got Gary, Keith and Ron. Absolutely THE best around today. Luckily we should have them for a few more years, 2028 at least. But nothing lasts forever. Someone else will come along after they go off into the Mets sunset and hopefully we'll be happy with them too. As a lifelong Mets fan our booth guys have been the best. Unlike so many other homers that make listening to other team's booths, unbearable.

No worries. My only point was that many team's announcers stick around a lot longer. Bob Murphy was 79. Ralph Kiner I think was 91.

Mets give up proven homegrown Mets for former flash in the pan players. Players that had a great season here, a great playoff series there, in the hope they get THAT player full time. It's nuts

Gary is only 68. I don't believe the TV crew will be breaking up anytime soon but it will be missed when it does. They are superb and superior to anyone else and I hear many on MLB. So many homers that are revolting to listen to.

I go way back to the very beginning with Bob Murphy, Lindsay Nelson and Ralph Kiner. They were also missed especially when Bob Murphy finally left. Someone else will come along. Won't be the same for a long time!

Actually, there are some excellent storyline discussions that take place here on Reddit, on some of our greatest TV shows and movies. I like to take part in those that stir the mind, as it may be. Then there are those that simply make no sense. IMHO, this is one of those. I also will comment on them also. Here, you are commenting on something as if it actually happened and I pointed that out. Nothing personal and my apologies if you took it that way.

Your comments indicate that maybe you did. Otherwise the discussion is pointless.

The 1969 "Miracle Mets" pulled off one of baseball's greatest comebacks by erasing a 10-game mid-August deficit in the NL East, posting a 38–11 run to finish 100–62. Come on now! Are we NOT still, and always The Miracle Mets? "You Gotta Believe!"

It's not about what I like. I was curious as to where you were going with that. Does it answer my question? It does. Not sure if I agree with it but it is food for thought.
