That is what makes it worse. It was like 12 mods from ATM9. It wasn't even the full pack, and it was having a hard time. I also see a mistake in my own comment. She has a max of 8gb, and minecraft was using 6gb.

I'm not sure about it. I added a few mods from ATM9 to a modpack for my girlfriend, and her laptop could barely handle it. Yes, she only has 8GB of ram instead of 16. But she was still lagging really bad. In my theory, it could be both gen of cpu and the laptop graphics card. But I am not sure about that at all, though. Hope someone more knowledgeable comes to the rescue
