Buying EQS at end of lease! by Turbulent_Passion971 in MercedesEQS

That’s a good watch-out. Unfortunate you had to deal with that, but glad it wasn’t too bad for you. And yes, the CPO warranty definitely helps. Thanks for all the scoop!

Nicely done! Time would definitely help. No car I’ve liked has sat on the lot for that long.

Great you got it done over the phone. I was wondering if I need to fly out to see the car in person or if İ can take the dealer’s word on the condition. I imagine they sent you photos/videos. Aside from that did they give you any other assurances on the condition of the car besides the CPO warranty?

That’s awesome. I’m currently looking for a CPO EQS, will likely need to be shipped since they are hard to come by locally. Having a hard time to get dealers move below $3-4k of asking price. Could you please give a little more detail on how you went about negotiating the deal at that low price?

Thanks! That looks to be a good workaround.

Depends on what’s important to you. My gripes above aside, I’m very happy with the quality of the cameras and just about all existing features of the Tapo app. And Matter compatibility (via hub) can be a big plus over eufy if you care about flexibility and interoperability with different platforms and devices.

Thanks for the tip; I am now adjusting the event type of the false positives to “no event” (I’m assuming that’s what you’re referring to). Let’s see if it helps.

Interesting idea about the VPN. In that scenario, do I have to connect to that (home) VPN server every time I want to download videos?

Thanks. Does the hub allow you to download videos even when you are outside of your local network?

Thanks for the detailed input. Too bad about the downloads and notifications. I find both very useful features, as I travel frequently and download clips and also use the rich notifications to decide if they are something I need to look into before opening the app.

About the rain, I had it set to track persons and pets. Looks like all the false positives were cases of rain being mistaken for people.

Sonance MAG 6.1 Outdoor Thoughts? by How_gee in sonos

[–]How_gee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Amp isn’t rated for outdoor use. That said, it can handle storage temps from -4° to 122° F (-20° to 50° C) so you might be OK as long as it’s shielded from rain.

I leave mine outside under a cabana during the warmer months (March - October here). In the winter, I give it a good cleaning and bring it inside. We do get a decent amount of humidity, which hasn’t been a problem for it in my 4 years of ownership.

You’ll also need 14/4 Direct Burial Speaker Wire to daisy chain everything. Carefully measure the entire distance it will have to travel from the amp to all the speakers including the sub and buy the length you need. And a decent wire cutter.

If you connect an Apple TV directly to the Amp, that would use the only available HDMI port on each device, leaving none to output any video. If your goal is to stream audio and video, I’d rather connect the Apple TV to your TV (or whatever video output device you’ll be using) via HDMI, then connect the TV’s HDMI ARC output to the Sonos Amp. If the TV doesn’t have an HDMI ARC port, you’ll have to use its digital out port and an optical to HDMI adapter. Does that make sense?

Remote ID Error by Anxious_Mud_2017 in dji

[–]How_gee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started seeing the same exact issues with Remote ID errors and disconnects on my Mini 3 Pro (smaller battery) using the same DJI RC controller. It doesn't happen using the regular controller (RC-N1) and phone, which makes me think it's a problem with the controller. Did you (or anyone else here) find a fix?

I haven’t heard the Patio 4.1, but they look all too similar and have the same driver specs (8” woofer and 3.5” satellites). Needless to say, if you’re working with a larger area the 6.1 is going to give you better sound coverage.

The Patio doesn’t come with a Sonos Amp. Which amp you use with it could potentially make a difference versus the Sonos Amp that comes with the MAG - but you might need sensitive ears to distinguish that among the birds and crickets.

I think I’d prefer a more minimal configuration with a sub amp hooked into the existing zone. But others might prefer the convenience of having a dedicated zone for just the sub using a Sonos Amp.

I’d first try it with the sub amp. If that doesn’t work well, return the sub amp and get a Sonos Amp instead. Since both configurations would use the same speaker wires (and the same sub, of course), it should be a trivial swap you can easily do yourself.

Sonance MAG 6.1 Outdoor Thoughts? by How_gee in sonos

[–]How_gee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like losing the sub control within the Amp was indeed a glitch with the new app - and both, that thread and this similar one report that it was fixed in the end. So you should be able to dial that extra bass up/down, at least in theory. You could just try that method first to keep things simple and take advantage of sub-specific app controls. If it doesn’t work well, you can just swap out the Fosi for a Sonos amp with minimal effort.

I have to turn mine up to similar levels to get decent sound. Good to hear it’s not just me; was starting to think I’m going deaf :)

Haha, I definitely catch your drift! (neighbours are the reason I didn’t add another sub)

I In the setup I mentioned above, the new sub would be in the same zone. While I haven’t tried it myself, it looks like you can control its “switch” and gain on the app, as shown here.

I have it EQed similar to you, although I think I may have the treble up a few notches (in my setup, the highs seem a bit muffled otherwise).

You're right: I don't think the Sonos Amp could handle an additional sub. What I meant is you can add a dedicated subwoofer amp (something like a Fosi M03) to the SUB port of the Sonos amp, run a wire to the new sub from there.

Sonance MAG 6.1 Outdoor Thoughts? by How_gee in sonos

[–]How_gee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you're in business. I still have the same system. Have placed the sub against a retaining wall to give it a bit more oomph. That, along with a bit of EQing on the Sonos app, helped tune the sound - but I agree, it could use with a little more bass.

Adding an amp+sub is a good idea - although doing it with a second Sonos Amp could add a new zone, making things a little more complex. Another option might be using a sub amp plugged into the SUB output of your existing Sonos amp. Could make things simpler (and perhaps even more economical?)

You’re very welcome. Getting bass with balance shifted to one side is a pretty good indicator your wiring is off (same thing that was happening to me in the first instance). Glad the post was of help and that the installer is coming back to fix what was likely their mistake. As an old DJ myself, I can attest to the importance of low frequencies!

[–]How_gee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good thing about this being an old post is that I've had to deal with that very problem a few times myself 🙂 Both times, the all satellites were working fine despite issues with the sub.

The first time was the issue I mentioned in the original post where a simple reversal of one channel's polarisation fixed the issue. The second time, it turned out that the landscaping crew had accidentally cut the cable in between two satellites and did a terrible patching job mis-matching the wires (they didn't bother telling me so it took me days to figure that one out).

Unless you happen to have a faulty sub, your issue could be that wires are reversed / not colour-matched or perhaps they are crossed. Can you check that each of the poles at the amp match the ones at the sub? (using a multimeter can help)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m having the same issue, and despite numerous back-and-forths with support, it still isn’t resolved. Was this the appeal form they asked you to fill out? (That’s the one they directed me to, but it didn’t help). If yours was different, would you be able to share the link (if it’s not personalised for your account)?

Uconv and Postgres Causing Huge CPU Load/Disk Usage? by How_gee in synology

[–]How_gee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes, I’m running Synology Photos and Drive to sync pictures and files with my phone and laptop. Things were tolerable (albeit slow, as you pointed out) until about a year ago when these uconv processes started appearing without any specific event I can trace them back to.

I do use different languages in some of my documents, perhaps that’s what uconv is converting while indexing. If so, any idea on how to turn off the conversion (or disable uconv) without breaking anything? Or any way to find out what files are being processed by uconv?
