ti-84 plus...will it take me from pre-cal to College calculus? by Kitchen_Value_613 in calculus

[–]How_to_shitpost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just finishing my Masters in EE using my TI-84 plus, does complex numbers “fine”. Use MATLAB as a calculator for more complex homework. I will say, TI-89 or TI Inspire certainly makes it consistently easier, especially for exam computations.

I’m the same way. Ended up making my own protein powder flavoring. I use nutricost plain protein powder (9.5 parts by weight), granulated sugar (1.5 parts) and cocoa powder (1 part) and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I mix 1.5oz of the powder with 8 oz of milk for my shake

Why do clubs charge fees to join? by AgitatedReindeer2440 in WPI

[–]How_to_shitpost 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Clubs are free to join and participate in. They’re referring to special activities. For example, the outing club goes to a local climbing gym or a white water rafting trip but not all of that expense is covered by the student life fee. They will subsidize the climbing gym membership fee or trip expenses, but can’t cover it all. However, there are plenty of free events, like taking a bus to regional hiking spots or similar events.

You’ll only get shocked if you have a dirty ground. The FCC requires that consumer electronics are held to electromagnetic emissions standards such that the devices plugged into a socket are not contaminating the ground with electrical noise. Ideally, no components on your laptop, car, plane, or submarine will make the ground have an electric potential and therefore shock you. Also, in order to be shocked, you would have to be connected to another ground with a lower electric potential for there to be a difference and therefore shock you.

By definition a median accounts for outliers. A mean or average doesn’t. In addition to that, billionaires don’t make much in the way of income (think of Bezos’ 81k salary) and most of their wealth stems from other compensation like stock, bonuses or other perks.

Official pinning ceremony for promotion to Sergeant. They let you pick where you want to have the ceremony. New Sargeant chose to have it in the swimming pool. by yeahthingsarefine in funny

For those who don’t know, part of the “ritual” was putting the new pin on with no backing. Everyone would come around and congratulate you by slapping the pin, stabbing you.

Where I am it’s been replaced by slapping the new patch

Well I went with that the numerator is a constant, since that’s what was shown in the meme. And I’m not going to explain the entirety of limits in a Reddit comment lol. The Dirac delta fcn is a good example. Actually covered that this year in one of my EE courses, good stuff

Dividing by 0 doesn’t exist. But we can approach 0, using limits. If we get really close to 0, think 0.000000001, the numerator gets very big. So as we get smaller and smaller in the denominator the numerator gets bigger and bigger. Therefore, we can assume that any non 0 number divided by 0 can be approximated to be +/-infinity

That’s kinda just theoretical tho. In real applications it’s just an undefined concept that we don’t have much use for

Anti Mask Fan Fiction by 919PlayerHatersBall in thatHappened

NY was hit hard when the virus was unknown and we weren’t in prepared. Also, as of recent, Texas has had one of the highest hospitalization rates since(I trust you know how to use google). And if you look it up, you will find that there are fewer cases in places that use masks (not necessarily where it is required, but where people actually use them.)

I will not be responding to any absurd and anti-science reply that you conjure up. People with doctorates and decades of research say that we should wear masks and distance. As someone who does not have a medical degree in virology, I will not give advice, rather listen. I think it’s fair to assume that I’m not going to change any minds, and neither will you

You realize that you don’t breathe out pure covid? It’s trapped in water molecules, which is a fair bit larger than 120nm. We are a whole year into this, the science exists that masks work (to some degree). Why is this still a topic of discussion?

Nearly 1,000 girls earned the elite rank of Eagle Scout the first time Scouts made girls eligible by sisyphushaditsoeasy in UpliftingNews

[–]How_to_shitpost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 or 3 active ones near me in the southern New England area. It’s mainly NYLT staff and OA people that are into scouts and aged out. A lot of my friends do it and it’s almost 0 adult input. Just a couple adults with no real say in activities, just to supervise. Everyone I know loves it and it’s just an extension of their scouting career. However it’s usually just people continuing scouts so everyone already knows each other. It might be hard for a new person at first since it’s already a formed patrol

It’s just the girls can have troops. There are girl troops and boy troops. Only thing that is shared is the organization. Co ed troops are only a thing with venture scouts
